Mould in a nutshell

Hey thanks for the info hotrock iam realy loving the idea of building a casting resin

guitar I think I may give it a try so could I get a litel more info from you like

what do mean by gel coat and glass fibre plug in one or two piecs and what type of

casting resin should I use. well basicly any info would realy help!!

I have to warn you that purplheart chips very easily

Iam not too worried Ive been building with it since the day I started and its become my signature wood allmost all my work has some purplheart on or in it.

I have found that with the right tools purpleheart works very well for me. I work in a friends shop [interior oakworks] and I have access to all the tools I need

to work with harder woods. thanks for the heads up!

No not realy but any info on the fretboard and how the fretless system works

would be very helpfull!! and some info on angled headstocks and how there mounted would be nice.

Hey there I have just started my first 7 string fretless neck and I could use some info and helpful hints [THE NECK IS 17MM THICK,THE FRETBORD IS 6MM THICK,THE WOOD IS QUILTED PURPLE HEART AND THE BODY IS HAS A PIECE OF QUILTED MAPLE DOWN THE CENTER WITH QUILTED PURPLE HEART WINGS ] And yes I know it will be heavy but i love the look and sond of it.

I would go for it it looks like it would be fun to try and I would go for 3X3 peghead as well. have fun!!

I love the the look of that guitar body but I don't think 3X3 peghead will go with its design very well why not try a 6 inline. the view of the dragon is from the side you could incorparate the head of the dragon into the peghead design I think it would look sweet. and you should burn the edges a bit I think it would bring out the dragons body. but any way it looks very cool!!

Hello there I am new here but I've been watching for a while and so far what I have seen is very cool!! Although the Les Paul style is a bit more conservative

then what I would go for I found the quality of your work amazing. I've only been building guitars for 3 years and I am just starting to try my hand at buiding necks. Usually I only design and build the bodies with parts I buy but I've decided to put aside my fear and try the necks now. I had only been working on it for awhile when I found your photos and you would not believe how much they have helped and inspired me. Oh yeah by the way I am building a custom 7 string fretless neck to go with the newest design I have. I call the guitar 'The Razor' I will post some pics as soon as I can get some taken. I look forward to talking to you in the future and getting your feedback on my designs.
