  1. Damn you Metal Matt!! That's a cool guitar, love the green over the maple. Back to the drawing board again

hey man if you want to build it than go for it!! Im not going to be building any of thouse any time soon, I come up with sooooo many random designs that once in a while someones looks like something ive done. I really only have 3 designs that I would not be happy with anyone takeing

  2. ok ive got the neck glued in, all went well but what a pain makeing the template for the pocket. this will be my first set neck guitar, Im sooooo picky about how perfect and tight i wanted the neck pockit that i made 8 templates before i did one that i felt was good :D I will be mounthing the bridge and than the pickup cavity today or the nextday than electronics cavity than some shapeing and sanding and than on to a finish

  3. Hey Matt, I just checked up on what you are doing and man, you have come a long way since you started building! That is a beautiful guitar. The details are very nice and it looks like a great player. Nice job.

Good for you for taking all the timeline comments in stride and finishing with a killer axe!

    ~David

Thanks David man! that means alot comeing from you :D

    Also,

what i want to know is where the heck you got that giant sawmill blade!?

its from an old saw mill thats been shut down for about 43 years and its just off bever Creek in the middle of nowere in the bush. a friend brought back the blade and he left it at my place for mounths now I clam it as my own :D Im thinking about makeing it in to a sign for my shop

  4. ok so ive got the neck on the go, fret board is glued on and ive shaped the spike on the botom of the board i start shapeing the neck in the am PICS SOON

now im not sure if I want to build this body as an 8 string or a 6 string. It would be cool to have a sixer of this body style, I could use my other strat style body and make that one an 8 string

  5. yeah, i need to get a sawdust collection setup, right now the broom isn't working out all that great you should just move to Dallas matt, plenty of great selection for woods here especially my selection of birds eye, you guys are all gonna see some pretty sick birdseye fretboards coming from me in the future.

my sawdust collection setup is wicke, I love my new shop :D I love birds eye I did a birds eye maple top on one of my EARY builds and it was sooooo sexy it even had just a bit of spalt going on

  6. Those look like "Jon" fretboards. I have several boards that came from Jon...they look very similar. Are you interested in swapping any of those pups for inlaid boards?

yep!! there boards i orderd from jon befor i got my stew mac saw there great boards I would order more but I cant seem to get a hold of him :D

and send me a pm and we can work something out I would love a look at these inlaid boards B)

wow matt, I'm just about to start a build VERY similar to yours.

6 string baritone, 27" scale.. And this shape.

ha look at that :D , nice looking design its more of a strat than mine but still cool. is that your design?

  7. Very nice design, Matt!

    But why EMG select ?

Thanks, the reason im going with the emgs is because i just got my hands on a ton of them brand new in the box for dirt cheep, and I want to see how they work and sound, they seem to be a good looking pickup Im hopeing there a good mid range quailty pickup

p.s ive also started the neck and I have every thing I need, Im going with a Paduk fret board with a 27.5" scale

  8. Thanks Wes!! Its really a very nice guitar it sounds great, the neck feels wicked and smoth very fast. and the design has really grown on me I seem to be growing out of my spikey pointy ways...............NAH never :D I will be building more of these designs next is another 8 string and then Ill try a sixer

but I have a "few" builds on the back burner that I want to finish

  9. Ok so Ive fixed the pickup hight with some new screws and Ive gone with the maple headstock and finished it all in oil. It really came out nice and feels great, I was going to leave it raw but after an hour and a half of playing it just felt odd with the wide neck

pics of the back comeing soon, I cant wait to show off the BANG ON ferrules i love when they come out nice :D my new jig works very nice

  10. Ok I dug up this old thing, Ive got all the parts on the way, with this one I wount be building the neck I orderd the neck from doug a long long time ago so I'll useing that one. I'll be useing a 7-string invader and a basic hardtail string thru bridge. This will be A set neck build

I will not start any new builds untill this one is done :D

  11. And you will have them :D with the pickup I need some longer screws to get the hight I want and need, also another thing i'll be working on is the strings all I could get out in ass bass nowhere was a set of 12s and 9s that I made this set in to and Im not happy with them, and yep oil was alot of easy work . I want to start doing spray finishing but Ill have to wait untill next spring to start a booth its geting COLD fast

I am a little lost here...what happened to the single cut?

It was put aside so I could finish what I started. I'll get to it again after I finish off some stuff thats been siting for way too long
