Thanks for the info lucky1 The SG is a 92' and previous owner had already routed out pickup cavity to accept a third pickup(like a custom).So no big deal about modifying it.Was going to try a hairdryer to remove overlay.Btw it seems to be made out of paper type material the overlay on it now.Let you know how it goes. SG'er
  2. Wondering if anyone has done this-i've got a gibson SG with the "Gibson" in gold lettering on the headstock.I've got a new overlay with "Gibson" in MOP & some fancy inlay also.How do i go about removing old overlay(i'd like to save it but doesn't matter if it gets wrecked) and what type of glue do i use for new one.This guitar has been completely stripped of old finish,been sanded and has sprayed with 1 coat of sand & sealer lacquer so far.Any help or thoughts would be great.
