  1. Or you could call up the place and have them send you some. I called up DiMarzio when i wanted to get some black covers and they just sent me some for free.
  2. Actually that's a good idea that i'll try. I just gotta find a used one with single coils, because i still have my strat pups (because i've already replaced all three on my strat). Thanx for the idea man.
  3. Well yea...eventually i want to be at the point where i can build from scratch, so that i can make completely custom guitars. Right now though i guess i'll start with a kit and a lot of reading. I was wonderin gif anyone had suggestions for kits other than saga though, because saga already has everything prewired and i was hoping to get a kit where i could do all that stuff on my own.
  4. I absolutely love playing guitar, and wish to learn how to build them from inside out. I'm 17 and really havent any experience with building anything like a guitar and would just like to know how some of you got started, or any suggestions for me on how to get started. Are there kits or something for practice, or should i try order bodies or stuff online and putting that together? Right now i'm trying to at least learn basic stuff like wiring diagrams and setting up my guitar (which i'm still horrible at). Point is, i'd really love to learn how to do some of the incredible things that you guys do with guitars, and any help that you all could provide would be much appreciated.
  5. btw, would you suggest sanding or using chemicals? If chemical, do i need a different chemical to remove the clear coat before the black paint?
  6. ty....where can i find out how to take off the strings and bridge and pickguard, or whatever i need to take off in order to paint...and putting it back on?
  7. Ok, basically i've only played guitar for 3 months, and was wanting to paint my fender strat orange. I was just going to pay a place until they said it would be 225 dollars. So i would like to strip the finish and paint, paint it, and finish myself, but i really have no clue as to where to even start. I dont even know how to take off all the parts or put them back on for that matter (i couldnt even put in my new pickups by myself). I know there are a lot of guides on the site, but its hard to piece them together so i was wondering if anyone could help me with this and explain better or provide a good tutorial or something. I realize i would require A LOT of learning, but any help that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated and i would be very grateful.
