  1. i am looking to buy a thunderbird bass body. i am open to the kind of wood used. truth be told i can be un cut. if you have extra wood laying around and happen to have the body shape handy just trace it on the wood and sell it to me that way. no need to cut it to shape as long as its the cutting lines are of a gibson or epiphone style one. that might sound strange but the only reason why i said that is because i want to skip the desing process and get to the wood working. i am open to prices. the only thing i ask is that its either 2 inchs or 1 3/4 inches thick.

  2. mabyenot- the instrument cable? i dont think thats it since im running faily new calbes and i take care of them so they dont get ran over with a chair or get bent to an extreme.

gripper-the head i have has both stereo and mono FX loops. i am currntly using the stereo one. would it help if the mono has a "dummy" wire from the in to out? i havent cleaned the jacks in months so maby thats it. i just need to pick up some contact cleaner

  3. yep, my marshall 8200 is having problems again. this time it cuts out. i think ive read that its due to the fx loop or a bad input. i tryed to do a search on this site but it seems to be down. anywho i was at a buddys place jammin and i noticed that at any voulme the sound will cut out at times or the distortion will weaken. another thing ive notcied is that it manily happens when i pcik really hard but since its the way i normaly pick its a huge inconvinance. anyone have any ideas?

  4. In a word.... No not really..

Theoretically if you had a series effects loop it would work. But if you had a parallel one it wouldn't work too well. Anyway.. if you have a decent amp with effects send and return level knobs you can do the same job with a patch lead.

Wouldn;t buy one anyway. Cost a few dollars to make the damned thing if you wanted to try it.

    S

    :D

how would you make it? any idea where i can find more info on making one? i tryed a search but didnt really get anywhere

  6. thanks for the help. im gonna try and go with an ibanez or a jackson. i like the pointy necks and the thinness of them both. with this guitar i want to make an 80s style shreder. first the neck then i want to make a pickguard out of sheet metal with only a single humbucker. i want to repaint it but im not sure of the color yet, something that screams 80s like a lime green or something

  7. i bought my first guitar from music 123 3 years ago. fed ex "couldnt find my house" and it caused over a week in delays for me to get my stuff. after some angry emails later they refunded 20 bucks of the total. when i used the credit music 123 messed up with my payment and i got my stuff witch was nothing more than a set of srtings,a string winder and a stand 2 weeks later. i havent and will never shop there again. musicans friend or local shops are the way to go if you ask me.

  8. the tone pot was not wired right. the green wire was not in the right place. they sound great with 18 volts.

    BUT....

its still dose the clean volume sound when the toggle is ont the possiton and its at 0 and the other one is at ten but ony at high volumes now. how do i get rid of this?

my jackson use to do this but i dont rember how i got rid of it. i think it had to do with a bad ground

  9. i just got my emgs in today and tryed to install them. well its my first crack at active pickups. i got sound the first time thru but the tone dosent do anything, it buzzed when the strings are not being touched, and when i set the neck volume at 0 so its a kill switch and leave the bridge at 10 it will give me a low volume clean sound. is there a ground issue? also whars the deal green wire from the jack? i followed the directions and i got that buzz. it also said not to reconect the bridge ground wire.

my guitar has 2 volume, 1 tone and a 3 way toggle.

  10. i guess it is the speakers. the right side are 2 eminince Man O War that are 125 watts RMS. on the left side i have a single celestion G12-30 30 watts RMS (other one is blown) . i was gonna get a pair of vintage 30s untill my car needed a whole new brake set up (300 bucks down the crapper). ill check the wiring later tonight

  11. sorry for the mix up. what i ment to say is that all the speakers are rated at 8 ohms. the wiring is set up at 16 ohms. i found a diamgram on the celestion site for 2x12 in series. that way it would give me a 16 ohm load and since my head will only put out a 8 ohm load witch is ok, from what ive head. if i did it in parallel it would give me a 4 ohm load.

  12. i have the scheamatic for my amp. well everthing is set up for 8 ohms, well the head can also run 4 ohm load. all 4 speakers are 8 ohms. would the way they are wired have anything to do with it? if so they are wired for a 16 ohm load. if i were to wire them diffrently it would be a 4 ohm load and i prefer 8.
