  1. i agree, with the above, but you gotta go with the flow around here i know its hard to do because some guys are just looking to start situations like that. There really is some usefull info here and some great guys willing to help and offer constructive criticism........
  2. hey man copy away, although if your gonna copy wait till i build my next one, cause its gonna blow this one away, the bloodwood i got for $15.95 american from this cat already slotted http://stores.ebay.com/California-Guitar-B...storeviewQQtZkm
  3. im trying to figure out what the heck they are trying to patent on the uranus model....... they do something special im not catching that requires a patent? i wonder if they are going to try and "patent" their strat, lespaul and PRS ripoffs too..
  4. i used a mightymite 2 band in my dean, works good, simply volume blend bass and treble, but its not as tidy as the aguilar.....but its a lot cheaper i got mine for 45 dollars at www.dancingdragonguitars.com
  5. oh yeah no effects just the bass through the interface into adobe audition, the bass doesnt need much if any compression to get a great slap tone, thanks to the coated fingerboard.
  6. ok sound clips here http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?songs=335347&t=2345 very poorly played but should give an idea of the sound of the bass.......
  7. heres some "glamour" shots the bass still isnt done i still have to mount the pickups permanently. i guess emg doesnt include the sponge stuff thats supposed to give there pickups adjustability, so i have to find some of that stuff, or something thatll work, i have to do that and a little odd and end stuff (like the buffing compound still in the recess' for the knobs) before its 100% done. plus i got it strung up with roundwounds now, which i really dont want to leave on there too long im going to try and get some good sound clips up soon too..
  8. it sounds a lot smoother IMHO, i recorded a sound clip of it before and after and you can really tell the difference the notes ring out cleaner, ive seen boards done with epoxy too but i believe this is just as good.
  9. lol yeah there just lines im not quite good enough to go without them yet, and this bass was built for playing i played a show tonight with it as a matter of fact ill post some pics of the complete bass 2morrow.
  10. yeah its house of kolor urethane, its tough as nails, it would prob be alright with roundwounds but im going to use nylon wrapped flats help keep from marring it up, even if it does theres enough on there to buff it back out when needed, the clear itself is supposed to be just under powder coat for durability
  11. thanks, i buffed it out this afternoon and heres what i got, i hope to get it all together and set up this weekend.
  12. i love the way the fingerboard came out, im going to use tapewound flat strings to keep it pretty.
  13. i cleared the bass with urethane, it still has to be wetsanded and buffed out (little bit of orange peel a few bugs) but heres a couple of pics so far
  14. yeah that makes me upset too, i bought my bubinga from a different dealer on ebay and he made no mention of a crack in the wood lucky for me it was in a spot that was gonna be scrapped any ways. but all and all id say that your woods still useable and it does have some nice figure would look nice with a sunburst.
  15. actually im putting a tutorial togther on the whole build of the bass for my website itll be pretty in depth, ill let you guys know when its done..
  16. i think that its great that for your first build you are doing your own design, and it really shows talent, i like the shape, its a heck of a lot better than seeing a strat or a tele copy........which is what most guys here do..
  17. sweet body shape i really like the lower horn.
  18. i placed the led inside of the control cavity i put it there so i can get to it easy, so when i get bored with the color i can just change it out to a different one.
  19. oh yeah i agree on the flamed maple, this being my first project i didnt want to go all out on woods, but the next one i will, and its gonna be a six string so itll have plenty of room for some nice figured woods in the neck, but man it is hard to find nice woods in the length needed for a through neck bass......
  20. thank you, the top and the bottom are bubinga.................................................................................................
  21. yes please do you got a pic of what your talking about? and yeah its just a mockup for now, i havent decided on finish, either clear poly or oil
