Allright, so I've got this tele with a reversed strat neck, and it sounds great, but the high e string isn't as loud as the rest. If I play a riff alternating between the e and b strings, the e string just barely sounds compared to the b. However, if I bend the e string towards the center of the fretboard, it allows both strings to ring with equal volume. I just talked to my tech and he told me that the pickup holes are drilled too high on the guitar body, thus making the high e string just barely (about 1/32") outside the pickup's magnetic field. I then called Warmoth, the company that made the neck and body, and they told me that the flaw was impossible due to the laser precise accuracy of their cutting machines. I'm lucky enough to be entering a new studio on Saturday where I'll be playing through my selections from an entire collection of vintage amps, as well as sound boards worth exponentially more than my house. Other than the e string issue, this guitar's tone is better than any I've owned, and I'm dying to use it. But if I can't use the high e, then I can't record with that guitar. If anyone could provide me with some emergency insight, I would much appreciate it. Thanks.
