I am a brand new member so hello to everyone. I was encouraged to share my work in the announcement forum, so here goes.
This is my first serious project like this, having only built a couple of unplayable mock-ups before this. It is an original design, but draws strongly from a few other brands (perhaps too strongly) but I'm hoping to refine the design a bit and start on a new model soon.
There were some shortcuts taken to save money (being a prototype, more or less) such as the laminated body, and the less than stellar quality maple top, but it has really served as a learning experience - so I'll be going all out on my next build.
It is a mahogony body, 3 piece mahogony neck with a deep set tenon, ebony fingerboard with pearl inlays. The finish is gunstock oil.
These pictures were taken just after some final steel wooling on the finish, and in the middle of a big mess so please excuse that mess!
That is the truss rod cover there to the left which I'm thinking will be laser etched with a logo by a friend of mine as soon as I come up with one...
