  1. well, i installed an 81 in my ibanez rg421. its buzzing though... i did it with a bandmate, and neither of us had done it before, but we followed directions as close as possible (installed as a 1 vol, 1 tone, no switch, because i only have one emg) we had to cut and sauter(sp?) the battery to output wire, because the routing in the cavity wouldnt allow the battery connection through... any ideas what might be wrong? we put electrical tape on the sauter, and on the loose wires in the cavity, but not sure if its working right.... :D

  2. thanks for the help, im giving him the link to this thread. the entire problem with it.. would be the input and output on the box, so as to not damage or interfere with the signal alot.. youd need some kind of unshielded jacks right?

  3. "ok, so as most of you know; i am the only guitarist in my band. I am currently playing through one preamp head (marshall jcm 2000) into two seperate cabs (one on each side of the stage). i am aware that there is a way to rig up a footswitch to be able to go from playing out of both cabinets to just one. what exactly am i looking for to do this?"

a freind of mine just asked me, and i gave a pretty vague answer since i wasnt sure. someone clarify please?

    thanks in advance

  4. hmm.. is the top glued already? if not, you could always use the extra maple and kinda do a "bind" around the bottom, which would give you thicker maple at the edges, allowing for a deeper carve..

and the color looks like it could be done with a see-thru paint with a clear coat, or with a stain and a clear coat. finding the right red might be a problem though lol.. it looks like a bit of a blood red, not quite crimson.. but close

either way, DO EET that color, even without the carve taht would slay

  5. Here's some red ones.... For some reason photoshop didn't do the burst as evenly as I would have liked but you get the picture  B)

I would have to agree though, I don't think you will be able to pull off a carve like that with the top wood being so thin (1/4?). When I photochopped it I didn't see the other pic of the the body from the side revealing the thickness of the top wood. If you think you can pull it off I I'd say go for it, just be carefull not to sand thru......

:D omg.. that looks amazing... matt!! the red > the green imo... whooooie.. :D

  6. the body

another shot of the body. the black marks are from the power sander, ill sand those off with something later

shots of the first messup. we used a bandsaw to cut as much of it out as we could, but when we had to do the wings, we used a jigsaw, and since i didnt want to mess it up(didnt matter LOL), i let my grandpa do it, and he accidentally went on the wrong side of the line.. its covered up with wood filler, and its just a little slice into the wing :D
