  1. I just replaceb the nut on my Charvel Model 4 with a new graphite nut and I want to change the locking nut or modify it at least. Because the B string is pulled on to the screw of the nut because of the jackson/charvel string tee angels. Here is a link to a locking nut just like mine. I would prefer to not drill any holes on the guitar itself but I don't mind modifying the nut.
  2. Cheers for all the help psw. the commons connections were different on the two switches so I just used the original switch.
  3. I just checked with the multi meter and my switch has differnet connections then the original. I got these switches instead. What parts on the switch do I need to resolder?
  4. Hey guys, I recently rewired my Ibanez RG1570 using the wiring diagram of the Ibanez website And now the middle pickup is not working. Only positions 1 and 5 on the switch work. Can someone figure out the problem?
  5. Oh ok, yea I think it should be all right. Cheers for the help
  6. Oh I see. Thanks so much for all the help. The diagrams will be a big help. I think I will just go with the tone as you said because as I will most likely be using the volume. I will report back and let you know how it goes. Also the tone pot is an A250k and I have an A500k so I could just solder a 500k resistor over lugs 1 and 3 to make it 250k?
  7. The volume and tone pot are seperate the mid boost is attached to the pcb. Are you talking about wiring the push pull pot? Do you think would could draw a diagram with the keys and symbols on the keyboard? Like this. [ - - ] [ - - ] [ - - ] The active electronics are strange as the pickups are passive so i'm not to sure what they really do.
  8. I've recently bought a Charvel model 4 with a HSS configuration, 3 pots (volume, tone and a mid boost) and 3 toggle switches for the pickups. This is the circuitry. I'm about to copper shield the cavity and I will replace the potentiometers also. I was wondering if it is possible to hook up a push pull pot on the volume or tone potentiometer and in the pull position the potentiometers would not function? What do you guys think?
  9. Hi guys I didnt want to start a new thread so here goes. I got a push pull pot for wiring but my humbuckers and single coil only have 3 wires like the ibanez 1550 an 1570 and I want to wire it like this Is it possible? Thanks
  10. Ok cheers for the help. Also on the first diagram here for the parallel speakers why does it have two jacks? Cheers
  11. Ok great so I would get one of these and two of these in order to connect the head to the cabinet? Do I also get about 16 gauge speaker wire to connect them?
  12. Hi guys i'm sure this is a question asked so many times but I couldn't find in anywhere so here goes. I making a tube amp and cabinet and was wondering what cable, jacks and plugs I need to connect them? I am using 2 16ohn 10" speakers so I will wire them in parallel. Do I use stereo or mono jacks and plugs? Cheers for the help
  13. I might not buy the pickups just yet I will test the guitar and if it sounds good I will keep them. The wiring diagram for my guitar is here I went out and bought a 12 pin toggle switch. What could I do with this? Cheers for the help
  14. I'm about to go to a parts shop and I need to know what things to buy. I'm getting a 12 pin toggle switch and I'm not sure which 5 way switch to get. Is it the mega switch or super switch? Cheers for the help
  15. Oh I see thats a shame. Well is there any other way I could use a 6 pin push pull pot on a HSH guitar to get differnet tones? Edit: Well i found a schematic Here and it looks great, but could someone tell me what pickups would be engaged when I push and pull the potentiometer?
