  1. Hey Guitar addicts. Need some help from the best. Before you do a veneer job do you have to treat the wood with any type of wood sealer? How do you go about venering the sides and back of a guitar? I am working with a flat body les paul which is almost finished being completely stripped of its original paint. Once its comepletely stripped i will sand the body and then begin with veneer job. I want to veneer the whole body to make it look really nice. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks People.
  2. Working on a flat body les paul. It is not made out of the best wood and I want to do a stain job on it. I am going to veneer the top and possibly the back. Since the wood is layered i dont want to stain the side because it will look rather ugly. What can I go about doing to make the sides nice? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  3. The only reason why Iwant keep the body and neck is for a more sentimenal reason. It was the first guitar that I ever owned and I feel it would be nice to redo it and keep the sentiments with it. Though it may not be the best to work with I feel it can come out nice with time, dedication and a little help. Maybe i need to go with painting the guitar instead of stain since the wood is not really of a good caliber for staining.
  4. If I go with sanding the paint off what kind off grind sandpaper will I need?
