  1. idch, what type of wood did you glue to the existing heastock?? I need something that I can find at Home Depot, Menards, or Lowes. I've modified a neck before but it was a paddlehead neck and I was able to use wood I cut off the paddlehead. Thanks.
  2. No I am not endorsing this site at all. All that I am saying is that for someone new to guitar refinishing, this is a good place to start. Along with the step by step instructions, there are pics to go along. Just trying to help out someone new to refinishing. Before I started, all I had was the Reranch 101 document. Yes it is great, but there are no pics to go along with it.
  3. When I bought the book, it was only $15. I was willing to pay the $15 for the template alone. Then I started to read his book and was surprised how much info it contained (also there are pics to go along with the read).
  4. The stripes were a template that I got when I bought the book on paintyourownguitar.com. The book is very helpful if you are new to finishing guitars. It takes you through the process step by step and includes pictures also. When you buy John's book, you can download the templates.
  5. Here are some pics of my first project: Let me know what you think! Posted on paintyourownguitar.com
