  1. Juuuuust under 6lbs. That is a good point to talk about. I give you 6 PG points. As I was drawing it out I started think man this thing (swamp ash) is going to be heavy. So I went to the driving rang and after I hit about ten balls it hit me. I will cut out an arrow that will knock some weight off. Then the bottom half of the guitar started casing some design problems. Where are the toggles, express and the clocks going to go? It started out with several digital clocks for different time zones and the express was at the front with the lower arrow. I could not figure out how to smoothly flow the express into the arrow. So I straitened out the toggles into a line and moved the express under the toggles. Then the clocks caused me one day of you piece of &*$#!! Then the next day I was looking at it and my bride came in (she new of the problem) and looked at me and I said the “the world on time but the guitar is not”. So she said how about a world clock you know the slogan “the world on time” and I said yea that’s it and she held out her hand. What do you know, she had the finishing touch in her hand. I am the luckiest man alive.
  2. I like were the DOG pissed on the fron tire!!! Very classy! Must have been a Fed Ex owned dog! ← Maaaaan that was you! I kid I kid!
  3. Hey, chopped top, slammed, flames, big wheels and they even made it look like there is someone in the truck. I give it an A+.

  5. Yes it is a clock and the area that the clock goes in has copper shielding in it.
  6. Sorry to hear about that. Hope all goes well for you. ← Still sorry to hear that.
  7. Here is what the strap will be made from. It’s an actual seatbelt from a FedEx truck. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...tbeltstrap1.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...tbeltstrap2.jpg
  8. Yeah, especially when you lose ← i cant lose its just that im probably too lazy to keep the process going ← It will be all about how it was packaged when it was shipped. Not to be a butt, this is about guitars in progress not companies.
  9. Thanks, that is the ultimate compliment.
  10. It might end up in the FedEx museum. Not really made for playable comfort in mind.
  11. Sorry to hear about that. Hope all goes well for you.
  12. The story in short form. I am in management for FedEx and play with guitars as a passion. The guitar started out as just a project for something challenging for the first guitar for me to build from scratch. It all started on a Stake-n-Shake place mat (great food). Now the emails on the progress have spread to corporate and I have been contacted but I told them I want to get it done before we talk about it. So only the first half of the story is complete as of now. A part of me wants to keep it for my self, as it is the only one in the world. Plus how do you put a price tag on a one of a kind guitar (priceless)?
  13. What he said ^. Yes the finish has the holes plugged up, will clean them up later on. This guitar is more then money to me. It has been a very good challenge and cool to see something other then the norm come to shape. It has pushed my abilities with all the cuts and angles in it but it has been fun.
  14. I will add past stuff later but some has been in the great body blanks thread. Here it is with pickup shielding, clock (it has shielding too) and finished finish. Now on to the neck. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...-10-05_0604.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...-10-05_0607.jpg
  15. Thanks everybody. This post has turned into progress on the FedEx guitar and others so I will be putting it up in the “in progress and finished work area” and letting this thread fade out.

  17. Don’t know where it will end up yet.
  18. Here are some new pics of the FedEx guitar. I stayed up all night taping of the FedEx and painting it. It was worth every minute of it now that my creation is starting look like what I had in my head. Sorry the pics are from my phone. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...edexguitar2.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...fedexguitar.jpg
  19. I like the one in the link. Ah, yes full scale drawings are fun.
  20. Yep, are new slogan is “guitars on time”. I am kidding. Just another reason to use FedEx we are guitar people too. Here is a mock up pic for ya. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/P10100102.jpg
  21. Here are some new pics of the FedEx guitar in primer and some ruff cut pics of the lower case v and the stratitsnot on the body blanks from mammoth. The FedEx guitar in primer. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/IMAG0104.jpg Me cutting, I have to get a bigger band saw! http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/IMAG0111.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/IMAG0126.jpg Man! 22. They will do what ever measurement you want. I got two at 21x14x1.75 and one at 21x15x1.75.
  23. Sorry, it took me a little bet to figure out the pic thing.
  24. I just got my 3 body blanks from Mammoth guitars that I ordered. I can’t say enough about them. You guys need to go take a look at www.mammothguitars.com . There prices are lower then any I have found and they will do what you ask of them as far as wood type and size. I worked with a guy named Douglas Jordan great guy to deal with. Top is mahogany, left side bottom alder with a purple heart cap and right side bottom alder with a quilted maple 4A cap. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/P1010001a3.jpg
