Yes, I strung it up and set it up. It plays great and the has awesome sustain!! I am using a Duncan Custom Custom in the bridge and a Duncan '59 in the neck. Overall, I am really pleased with how my first project turned out!!

I think it means instead of having a carved top, you take a bookmatched top set and bend it so it will lay down over a forearm carve on Strats and others with a forearm carve. I saw a really good tutorial of one somewhere here on the forum!

Thanks for the comments, guys!!! It's not a drop top-just a 1/4" inch flame maple on a 1 1/2" walnut back. The frets are not gold, they are Dunlop 6100's!! The comment about the RG and a Paul is dead on!! That was what I was going for!

Cudbucket, I did use the transfast turquoise! I was going to do the cardinal red, but the turquoise just seemed like a better fit!! Man, your guitar looks sweet!!

Thanks for the kind comments! The only thing I did was mark out a 3 dergree angle on the heel of the neck and carefully sanded down to it. The neck pocket is sanded flat and straight. I knew I had to use a neck angle because I was using the Pigtail wraparound bridge.

The neck has a 3 degree angle. I cut out the 2 piece walnut body and then glued the maple top to it.

The neck continues under the neck pickup ala PRS. The AANJ is a bit square but it joins the body at the 22nd fret, so it is extremely comfy to play!!

Yes, it is my very first one-it took a while and I am going to take a break then I am going to start on the next one! The color is Turquoise! I learned alot on this one, so the next one should be better!!

Yeah, I didn't stain the walnut-just went with straight lacquer.

Well guys and girls, I am finished with my first guitar! Still have to put the strings on it, but that's no big deal. This is a Walnut body with a maple top, 2 piece maple neck with a walnut stripe and a rosewood fretboard. Just wanted to let anyone who has doubts about Rich and his products, don't be hesitant to work with Rich, he is a great guy and very, very helpful. Just received my 2 piece African Magogany body blank from Rich and it is AWESOME!!!! Rich, thanks, and hopefully I'll get that Rosewood neck blank from ya'!

Hello everyone, I need some help with a project that I will be starting very soon. I am going to do a seven string based on the Ibanez K7. Does anyone here on the forum have one or a RG7620 that could trace the body outline and headstock onto a piece of poster board for me along with the neck width and body thickness and some other measurements? I will gladly pay for the poster board and the shipping expenses!!Thanks

I have a PRS style 1 1/4" thick Honduran Mahogany body for sale. @ piece that has been glued, roughly shaped like a PRS McCarty. Just do not have time to do this project-got some nice Walnut for my next few projects! $30 shipped-PayPal preferred!

I was going to make my neck Mahogany but I had a change of heart and want to build my neck with a 3 piece construction with maple and a walnut middle strip that runs the entire length of the neck and headstock. I have heard that some factories used to make their necks with a walnut skunk stripe for added strength, so I figured a full strip would do allright, also. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I am working on my first project which is a Walnut body, maple top and a Walnut neck. My neck has some issues so I decided to scrap it. How would a mahogany neck sound with a walnut/maple body? How would a all Rosewood neck sound? Thanks guys for any input!!

Hello all, Newbie here, I have a cool 2-piece Walnut body blank that myself and my Grandfather cut out from a downed Walnut tree in West Virginia. I would really like to make a cool Ibanez RG or Strat type guitar body out of it. The problem is that I really do not have the adequate tools or time to put into this project. I also have a 1 piece Walnut neck blank that I would liked to be built also. Any Luthiers here on the board that could help out with their services? Thanks!!

thanks for the info guys, after much research on this forum, I think I'll put oil on the neck and shoot laquer on the headstock over the decal.

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and I have a question about headstock waterslide decals. I have an unfinished maple neck that I am going to apply tung oil to. My question is: Can I apply the decal to the headstock with the tung oil on it or does the headstock have to be unfinished? Also, can I apply the oil over the decal or should I seal it with laqcer? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
