  1. Hello and welcome,

I have a Floyd Rose II with a D-TUNA, my experience:

Ok I have NEVER used it in almost 2 years, why, I use the bar a LOT! with the D-TUNA the guitar tends to detune unless you block the trem...and I dont want to block it ya know...flubbers, pulls, dives...etc..(all that fun stuff! :D ), so yes you will have to block your trem if you decide to purshase it...if you are like me and dont want to block it... dont use it, unless you want to have tuning problems...I dont really play 6th down to D or C, I wanted just to try...the D-TUNE would be real good for a non-trem guitar, my 2 cents man, hope this helped.

  2. Hello,

Im still a newbie for all this stuff, I still getting info about everything, your pictorial is awesome! really man, I appreciate the time you spent doing it. I have 1 final exam to go, next week I will print the Double Neck King V sketch from Spikes website and make some little adjusments...verify scale...draw cavities and all that stuff, then I will make the wood template, after that (a few months have been past) and I will begin to make the body, I also need to get some tools, so probably Ill PM you later for advices.

    Thanks,

    Ivan

  3. I gave up on spokeshave's long ago.. It's fun if your only building a couple guitars, but without constant checking with contour guages you won't know your progress. Have you considered building a copy carver? You can find out everything you need to know about it at http://www.copycarver.com ... I can do the back of a neck with the device in minutes. Also once you have a neck build to your liking, you can duplicate them over and over with great accuracy. The setup is the only time consuming part, once you've got neck you want to copy aligned you can really knock some necks out fast..

    Good luck.

this is off topic sorry, but...thanks GuitarFrenzy for the Making Of A Strat Pictorial...not that I want to make a strat, but it was really helpfull for 1000000000% noobies like me! Thanks a lot man!

  4. Well dude, it depends on how much you use your floyd etc...Ive used Jacksons FRII, Kramer FRII and Jacksons FRII JT 500 which is Jacksons version of the Ibanez Low Recessed bridge...I like them all never had a problem with any...ofcoarse JT500 is for serious dives and pulls! is just a matter of taste I think.. :D

  5. Ummm... that's just a picture of a butt on a guitar.

I had always thought the lower part of the Strat looked like a woman's hips, hence the placement of the graphic on my version. Meanwhile, the horns where supposed to have the same effect as the straps on the teddy. That way the body looks more like... well... a body.

yeah I know...I just found this looking for some double neck guitar pictures and decided to post it...is not exactly your idea...but still around it...nice butt there!!! lol j/k!!! :D
