ahhhhhhhh EArlier today I noticed my body(semi hollow) had a 1/4" cup on it . The areas that I hollowed out(the lower bout) has curved up and now thers a 1/4" difference beteween the sides and the center block. The back now has a nice "carved" look to it
What can I do to fix this? Should I put it through a huge drum sander to level the top?
All I need to do is level the top, The back is cool the way it is. Would the sides be to thin and break going through a belt sander? (the sides are 1/2" thick)

a little bit off topic () butt... Matt you should so change your avatar back to the scary red skull. It's soooo much cooler than what ya got now.

wow mos6507. I really like all the potions you got on yours. All the midi and peizo stuff gives me goosebumps
-
wow your right, thers a lot of good info there. Thanks for the link!

hey I was just reading on how a guy put a line 6 variax electronics into a guitar he made. Does anybody sell just the electronics? is there any place you can get a banged up variax with good electronics real cheap?(like under $200)
-
the upper left one is way awesome. I would love to see that with a cocobolo top

I really dont care in the slighest about poewr. I would really prefer something I could crank and not ruin my hearing All I play is just in my house, and if I play out i'l just mic it. So power is NOT a problem at all.

Right now I have a behringer vamp running through a power amp and into full range speakers. Do you think I should shell out $180 bucks on a valve tronics 15 watt? or should I just save the money and get a nice tube amp? are the valvetronics and good? would it sound much better than the behringer stuff?
-
since all yall have pods let me ask you a question. I want to have a nice overdriven "vintage tone". Would It be better to buy a pod or get like a peavey classic 30? (both the same price considering I would have to buy a poweramp and a speaker to go with the pod xt live (the only one I would want is the xt live)
So so you think the pod can do a better "just barley overdriven tube sound" than the peavey?

does it NEED to be sitting on a single coil pickup? or can It be by it self just sitting on wood sitting in the middle of 2 humbuckers?
-
HEy psw, I have 1 question(ok mabye 2) I wil be installing it on a guitar with 2 humbuckers (1 neck 1 bridge). Could your driver sit in the middle of my 2 pickups? or does it need to be siting on a pickup? Basicly could it work with a 2 humbucker guittar and how would it work?
Also (if question numer 1 proves yes) what are the EXACT mounting demintions of your driver? (height width and legenth, to be used in routing my guitar which I am building and now would be a good time to rout) and can it be placed under a 1/8" wood top so it doesent show?
-
wait a minute, I'm a moron, Totally discard that last post of mine. I thought it said it wouldent work with just 2 pickups, but it says it is EASIER with 2 pickups. Boy am I stupid, I should read more before I post
( I am now reading over this 25 page post and let me say, there is a LOT of information here, some useful, some not(like say my posts )

wow your an excellent artisan(if thats how you spell that )
-
Forget I posted anything. (boy am I dumb(see below)
-
wow thats really cool! I'm always scared of losing my wee little fingers.
-
this one is MUCH better. With the other one it's not gonna sound much better than just going into a computer. With the boss you can save it to a camera memory card or go into your computer from a usb cable. I know it costs more but your throwing your money away with that Alesis.

as soon as your ready to sell me one PM me here. The problem is that i'm building a guitar NOW and it would be easier to rout it now than later... Speaking of that,How would I install it in my guitar? would I need to rout out a hole in the middle of my 2 humbuckers? Is the driver big like say a sinle coil, or is it something thin? will it make my guitar look bad?

have oyu checked out the new dremels? dremel, If you get the new one you can get a jointer attachment. The dremel and the jointer is about $100. It works awesome and it's CHEAP. It has a 2 1/4" cutting surface and removes 1/64" in a pass

ok thanks a lot. I think I decided on a jazz in the neck and some sort of PAF in the bridge.
(o and thank you for not acting like i'm a total idiot, and your right about my age)
-
ok this might sound weird but I dont really listen to any jazz or blues And I just kinda play my own stuff. But it does have that mellow smooth overdriven jazzy type of sound to it.
-
hey psw, when you get it working I will buy one from you. or if your REALLy nice mabye you could send me a schematic for like $10? How much do you think one would cost?
-
sorry guys i've been gone for a whille. I'm also stupid and forgot to pu in what kind of music I play I plan (on this guitar) to play jazzy bluesy kinda stuff.
O and about the noise, I just really dont care about noise. If its not loud enough to make my ears bleed I dont care.

sustainer Does it work well? can I make it so I just put it's driver in between my 2 pickups and just turn it on when I want? I would like it but I think it says it's driver replaces your neck pickup. Couldent you just put it's driver in the middle and wire up a kill switch for the whole circut? So when I flip a switch (I have to be on the bridge pickup) it turns the circut on and it works, but I can just turn it off by puting a kill switch after the entire circuit right before the output? where would I need to put the kill switch? can someone draw up a schematic to wire it up how I want it?

hey drak what does you coco guitar sound like? My mext guitar I wanna make the whole thing out of it. but i'm wondering about it's tonal properties.
