  1. sorry I just couldent resist posting a pic of my guitar, I love it. It plays and looks soooo much better than anything in the store I tried(even the other godins) So I think I Just got REALLY lucky as the other godins were not quite as good as this one.

    :DB):D:D:D

Auccually I want to make my electric i'm building right now into a solid body acoustic.

What do I need to do to accomplish this? IS it just that I need to install like a peizo loaded bridge like the lr baggs things? I want it to sound like the tom anderson crowdster which BTW sounds better than any "real" acoustic i've ever heard(there also $3000 dollars so I want to build one) I'm prety sure the bridge plays a big part in it. So if I just got an acoustic bridge and a peizo would my electric sound as good as an acoustic? (or is it that anderson put a "real" acoustic top that is real thin and braced on a very small back and sides? but than wouldent this not sound any better than a thin bodied acoustic? i'm so cunfused)

  2. gee that shape looks kinda farmiler :D(check my name :D ) Dude godins are freakin awesome but I would get a different headstock, thats the only thing I dont like about mine. (BTW that cocobolo is AWESOME, my next guitar I build will have a cocobolo body(yes the whole body)

Ok just a LIITLE bit off topic but check out these pics of my guitar (which I love

    :D )

    lower bout

    upper bout

    full

dude the action on my guitar is half a milimeter at the 24th fret on the treble side and .9 of a millimeter on the bass side (with absautly NO buzzing)

YA!!!!!!!! haha I have it and you dont B):D

  3. ok lets say noise is absalutly no issue(because I know how to shield so thers NO noise, I have a guitar with singles and a humbucker and now I cant tell any difference in noise when I switch beteween the two) And I would be getting the seymour duncan Vintage P-90 Soapbar. Also my hollow body has a block down the center that the pickup is screwed into so there should be no feedback.

  4. auccually kench, mahogany is prety bright as tonewoods go. It is warmer than most solidbody woods, but acoustic woods (ie rosewood) are much warmer/bassier

Rosewood has the most bass. If I had an unlimited budget I would build a guitar out of cocobolo. Right now i'm building one with a cocobolo neck but thats just a neck :D

also KTL, spruce is NOT softer than pine. And the reason it is used in acoustic guitar tops is they need the warmth of a less dense wood as the top matters most in an acoustic. (do you see a acoustic guitar top made out of rosewood or ebony?) My brother has a guitar with mahognay back and red ceder top(now thers a SOFT wood) that ceder has got so many dents it is un belivable, It is unavodiable with ceder. It is just too darn soft.

  5. ok AS most of you know I am building a semi hollow guitar. I was wondering how yall think a P-90 would stack up compared to a humbucker. Which one do you think would work better in a hollowbody? and how do you mount the P-90? thers no mounting tabs for screws or anything.

  6. umm no i'm an american, and thats in USD. (is USD less or more than candian? so like if I bought wood in canada for $160 how much USD would I have spent?

EDIT: ok I just calculated it and $160 canadian would would be $134 USD

but than I really only spent $116 and $116 candaain would be $97 USD

(Just in case this confused you more, I am a american and I paid american dollars for my wood)

And ya javacody, poplar costs almost nothing. Genuine mahogany on the other hand :DB) A one peice of black limba will run you about $100 USD

  7. well basicly the pros is

    1 it looks cool

2 it makes it so you cant feel the board (some claim it makes them faster)

    cons:

1 it makes playing a chord in tune VERY hard, so If you want to just play lead it helps, but rythem players hate it (hence why some people scallop the upp frets but leave the lowers untouched)

thats all the cons I can think of

  8. ok I got a update.

Earlier today I made the template for routing out the innerds of the mahogany. Right now i'm off to my youth group so I wont do any more today. Hopefully I Can finish routing out the innerds (and not screw it up :D ) tomorow

I will take more pics after I rout out the innerds(hopefully evreything goes well)
