  1. i say go with a custom headstock thats symmetrical and has serrated sides i'd suggest a V but after my thread, doesnt look like too many people take kindly to the V look
  2. How So? Im oppen to any Idea's !!METAL MATT!! ← just try to make it more sharp/angled like the serrated edge of a bowie knife that'd rock bro!
  3. okay, so are you guys suggesting the vol knob go a) on the top angled in the top c) on the inside of the bottom V wing and yeah, ill move the vol knob. i was just quickly puttin it in where do you guyst suggest it go? i always **** up placing these things, one of my designs had em behind the bridge and later found out that was a big no-no :-p does the headstock still need work/ is it too big? i kinda like a big one, but if its really gonna throw off the balance then ill adjust accordingly...
  4. heres an updated version of the body this lookin a bit cooler or should i stick to the traditional look? i widended the "v" on the bottom, and of course you can see what i did to the sides and i fillet'ed the points to make em more realistic headstock more or less stayed the same
  5. argh i have no idea what you just said so im just gonna get a tape measure out thanks anyway
  6. i would be playing straight rock and metal on this one thats for sure
  7. *** is up with the back of the necks on those things? or am i just seeing things..
  8. i need the dimensions for a 24.75 scale neck the nut would be a FR locking... sorry for sounding like a noob but i just needa know what the exact measurements the fretboard would be for these templates im drawing up (for a body) and i needa make sure its all in proportion i'm sure all this stuffs in a thread somewhere...i just cant find it...
  9. okay, going by this pick of a king v the KV is wider in points than mine, so should i make my points even closer? and the trem in mine is just about as close as the jackson im not arguing your points guys, just confirming the changes before i draw more ideas up
  10. no way i want to make this look like the washburn dime v that thing was hideous (the body shape) plus their headstocks were deliberately crooked, and i want this symetrical
  11. is there any advantages, other than looks of course, to only putting in one pickup? also, if i was to only put in one in the bridge, and only have a volume pot with no tone pot...what would be the pros/cons to this and/or what effects would it have? thanks
  12. set neck and also, by when i said "generic" i meant i dont want people saying "whoa, nice Jackson" or "nice washburn" i wanna be a lil more original than just copying the king v body....but it just looks so nice...
  13. Kinda see where your going with that Primal and i agree to a point.. (no pun intended)... perhaps a little but remember its YOUR guitar so with whatever suggestions we give... take em in but also go with what YOU think is right At the moment when i see that headstock i think... Washburn ~~ Slain Angel ~~ ← alright, ill try some drafts a little "shorter" so i can play sitting down, see how it looks and yeah, the headstock is definately "washburnish dime"...still kinda working on it, my sketches were a little different thanks for the input
  14. updated sept 15 This V template im working on (this forum is in progress, so i think im posting in the right place) is it too generic? I dunno, just any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Should i make the V wider perhaps? I dunno, i'm just fishin' for ideas from you pros
  15. i was going thru some of my files after i re-installed autoCAD so i cna start draft work on the guitar i wanna get built up and came across this body i did back in highschool for an assignment (in CAD) the final product looked like ass....cant remember why but i had to alter the body to get it to connect 3D or whatever but this one looked better. no front horn though, forgot why i rubbed that out. i think the two i deas i was floating around was either a mockingbird type horn or a really sharp inwards "sg" type anyway, should i get back to work on this one or is it a bust?
  16. ...to get a body routed for a FR bridge (not the hardware, just to get it cut)
  17. another Q should i request to the guys not to route out a neck pocket? would there be an advtange to the way the neck is set? or will the strat-heel pocket be just fine for this kinda guitar?
  18. i use bill lawrence pickups, and they are only about $50 a pop best pups ive ever used
