  1. how much work we talking here? considering its just the back and not the top that would need to be stripped
  2. I think I'm about to do the same thing. Might be breakfast bothering me though. Anyway.. You should go get your guitar and strip the paint off it then redo it clear. I don't know why you would want to paint such a pretty guitar anyway. not gonna happen because of the binding
  3. i was gonna go with trans-black back and classic white top, with black/brown bursting around to look like a burn. not sure if i posted the rendering. but yeah, they went ahead and painted solid white and were planning on putting some sort of silverburst on it.....yikes
  4. Oh ****. Wired crossed and it was just painted the wrong color. Damnit...
  5. haha, I want to give Vadim a big hug for all the hell I put him through on that
  6. It wasn't finished. 1st layer of lacquer to fill in grain, it'll likely be sanded back down to wood tomorrow.
  7. i know, i made a typo when i started the thread and can't edit it

  9. how about angling though? do you see any potential benefit from angling a pickup so certain strings are further from the bridge (or vice versa)? obviously it's done more frequently on neck pickups but I'm wondering how that would play on the bridge
  10. On a single pickup guitar, with all that space to work with between the bridge and the fretboard end, what would be the optimal placement for a pickup? assuming the pickup is blade style (e.g. bill lawrence, duncan blackout, etc.) and pole spacing is of no concern, would angling the pickup be of any benefit? considering you only have one to work with for both leads and rhythms, if you had carte-blanche on how to pick a spot how would you do it? :)thx

  15. i have no idea what you just said as for a "dirty" look, i was planning on making the white "messy" like dripping and grungy like that dean zakk one posted i just didnt want to bother wasting his time make me a complex design for the top. figued id leave that to the real painter. im thinking of going with black now...
  16. any suggestions? the guys been fielding ideas and showing them to me for a few days now. nothing i've liked more than the stripes so far.
  17. hes been doing mock up of ppls customshop ideas on the dean forum for a few weeks now, thats how i found him. i cant believe how quickly he was able to model the entire guitar and hardware and everything though. guys good at what he does.
  18. KV1? They kick ass! KV2 i believe just as kickass this is with black hardware, for all those who want to convince me to do black hw
  19. meh. the back is showing, i wanted a solid painted top i just bought a korina jackson KV with no paint, all natural, so ive got my fill of natural grain for now
  20. black hardware would also look good, but as a Pittsburgh sports fan, im stickin with the black/gold/white scheme
  21. no, its not dead yet!!! lol in the long wait for this, i was talking to a friend whos great at 3D modelling and he whipped this up in a matter of no time: http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/278/sug...rotosidejn7.jpg http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/8885/su...rotobacklm1.jpg
  22. well the luthier that did it is pretty highly reccommended at the jackson/charvel forum and they said the dealer is good so i figure getting it and repainting it would bring it back to new looking and sounding
