  1. Thanx, jsullysix!

Yeah, basically, I need the template of the Iceman (along with the nut dims, scale... I believe it has 22 frets, right!?). I am thinking of using Iceman's headstock shape for my project cause I think that it is very good looking three-per-side variation on the subject (Jackson's shape on the archtop is also nice looking headstock, if you know what I mean). If You could take some pics and post them here or send them to my e-mail, that would be great!

What pickups did you put in your Iceman, man?

  3. :D My maple board is "kinda" dirty (I'll post picture later). Is there any cure for this like cleaning adhesives, sanding or something else? I really don't want to sand or do any other 'physical' treatment to it, but if that's the only way...

  4. Something else  Wilkinson or PRS tremolo works best for me.

Yeah wilkinson any day for me! So easy to use yet simplistic in design.

I voted for Edge simply because I use this trem 99% of the "trem work" :D . If I had to choose non-locking trem, well, Wilkinson VS100 is excellent. Also, EBMM JPM's trem is really good; really smooth, silky finish. As far the PRS trem goes, I don't know. I haven't played one with the trem, but I've heard good things about it.

  5. I have DS-1 and it is, as you say, bang for a buck. Mine is dead mint, not a single scratch. A friend of mine bought it for me in Italy 2 years ago. As for the MT-2... I don't know... My friends really like it, but then again... I like its sounds paired with my Ibanez and friend's JCM 800. Really Metallica-like sound from the '91 Black album. Chunky.

  6. I've had Zoom GFX-707 and it wasn't so bad, not bad at all. In fact, selling it was probably wrong decision :D but I needed cash for something else. As far as the stomp boxes go, they are useless without a REALLY GOOD amp (and a bunch of other stomp boxes!!!!).

The deal I'm getting on V-Amp 2 is little under 220 EUR, so it is not cheap as Zoom, but I reckon it has better sounds, especially for REC purposes, as I intend to use it for that. I've read that it sounds crappy through the front of the amp. Is there a cure for that, or it is "just" a recording tool?

BTW, this is my 50th post. Congrats to me (from ME, MYSELF & I)!!!

  7. Thanx, guys!

I'll be ordering the V-Amp 2 in a couple of days. I've tried it on the headphones in the store and it sounded very good.

The only thing that bothers me is that the connectors are kinda weak-ish, if you know what I mean. I'll be making cable extensions as soon as I get the gadget.

  8. I've read on jemsite.com that regular Floyd Rose type bridge is a lot stiffer than Lo-Pro or the Edge trem system. I have Edge and it covers my needs for trem work. My friends who play guitars other than Ibanez have Floyd originals or clones (Jackson variation on the subject) and their locking trems are way more stiffer (the strength needed for pulling the trem up or droping it down is much greater, but not in terms of getting your biceps pumped up for the task!). Edge is VERY sensitive trem. I don't know; maybe it has to something with the propper trem mass distribution (?!?!?!).
