Where can I find your songs on the net, Alex?

I'm thinking of getting one of those...
If you have any suggestions about it (quality, durability, sound...), post it here.
Thanx

You mean the picture on the back of the album? I've always wanted to do something like that to a guitar to "make it *most* unique of them all". What do you suggest that I should use (felt tip markers, paint, lacquer...) to make this kind of finish because these are very trashy looking guitars, all of them - Korn's and Satch's!!

Has anyone seen Korn's new video for the "Tomb Raider 2", with that 'toots', A.J.? Their guitars look interesting... especially the fretboard! If you have any link for pics... post it here!
Thanx

Thanx for the enlightment, Brian! I've always thought that they were the same (besides clear or pearly variation).

I'll try black ones on my RG 550 for sure. BTW, what is that "RG Egypt Owner" in your signature, Kevan? What does it stands for?

Is there somebody who has built SG or some other guitar that has edge chamfers? What would be the right tool (tools) for this job? I've read that some guys on this forum used disc sanders (the guy that built that awsome PRS-like quilted maple top guitar in 'september contest" post). Also, I need some advice for rear contour of the body: the RG guitar body has really nice back contour with straight edges. How it can be executed?
Thanx in advance

How about CorelDRAW version of the logo, hmm?! Does anybody have it?

My speakers are lacquered with nitro and it starting to crack so I'll use polyester lacquer on my guitar definately. The only downside is that it cannot be done at home; it has to be sprayed in the paintshop where they have painting booths and ovens and stuff.

What is the difference between JEM and a RG pickguard?

I have similar problem: I need *exact* dimensions and a position for a fixed strat-type bridge (like on the 90th PGM model) - distance from the bridge humbucker or any other refference point. Any info will help.

The "fast reply" option is great; it's time saver!

Hey, Brian,
is that the JEM or strat-type pickguard tutorial in the way?

What are your thoughts about leaving the maple fretboard unfinished, Brian?

I have edited the template on jemsite.com couple of months ago so it can be printed in the right proportion and it is posted on the same page as the high res jem template - jem template.

Could someone enlight me in terms of mm distance between fixed bridge (through body, strat type) and bridge pickup or some other refference point on a guitar? I am building a fixed bridge RG style guitar. Also, if someone could recomend a some fixed bridge (nut will be 42 or 43 mm), it would a blast!
Thanx in advance

One question:
How did you apply the top over the contoured body?
One more:
Could you post the dimensions of the AANJ pocket or even the whole template for AANJ RG style body?

This reply might be just a little bit off-topic, but I would like to know if the person who made this guitar
has the template for the AANJ 7-string body and would like to post on this site or send it by e-mail?The neck on this guitar was suppose to be 3 piece's but ended up being four because of the design of the headstock wing. I like the way they feel when they are built like that verse's the old scarf joint for the headstock design.Thanx

HOW did you route this cavity, man?
Tools... Approach... Angle...
Could you make a tutorial for this problem?
Lets say that I have a project:
- mahogany base and carved 2-peice maple top
- EMG pickups H/S/S
- wilkinson VS100 trem
I would like to install pickups in that kind of fashion (only the mounting screws are visible).
What do you suggest?
One more thing:
Knopfler's Pensa Suhr model is much thinner than a, let say, Ibanez which has 45 mm thick body.
Is this clever solution?

I believe that Mark Knopfler's 1987 Pensa Suhr flame maple s/n 001 has bridge pickup installed in that fashion (only the screws are visible). These guitars build by Bob Gill have the same kind of pickup mounting www.bobgill.demon.co.uk; www.bobgill.demon.co.uk
I would also like to know how it can be done.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Very nice, very nice indeed!
Very good choice of colors!
I can't wait to do my own swirl job !
How did you *EXACTLY* prepared your body for swirling (by the numbers would be fine )?

I've found on the net that pickups that are direct-to-wood mounted have shallow route so the pickup is screwed directly into the wood without foam or springs (hence the name!). The John Petrucci and EVH models have that kind of setup (pickup routing). I would appreciate if somebody could enlight me in terms of propper dimensions for such pickup mounting solution. Also, I've noticed that route shape in Petrucci model (kinda spikey in the screw region) differs than route in, let say, RG570CT or any other lower range direct mounted pickup guitar. If this is not understandable, I'll make a sketch in the next post.

What sound card do you have? I have Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and a piece of software that came with it, called: Media Source Player. It has possibility (one of) like slowing music down but without changing pitch. I use it to learn tricky speedy stuff but the rest is just by ear and sheet music.
