    Fancy Making me one?

    Wait until I DO build the first one. If this thing turns to be good, I'll make more using CNC router just to be sure that it will be cut precisely. I have nice piece of basswood for the body. I need some hardwood (purpleheart perhaps or bubbinga) to combine it with maple. Can't wait to start!

    man that's awsome!!!!!! anyone else thinking that peghead is just a tad fat though? maybe it's just my tired eyes? but i love the inner line at the top of the peghead, are you planning on doing a brian may kinda finish job on there?

    To my eyes, it's about 2-3mm too fat on either side at the widest part. But only after you mentioned it, otherwise I woudln't have thought twice.

    Well, yeah. I modified it yesterday to be slimmer. Maybe I'll modify it to smaller in overall dims.

    Dude, that's some seriously kick-ass display of vector-drawing skill. I sure wish I could pull that kind of stuff off, but I think right now my 'to do' list of things to learn is so long that adding another thing to it would be folly! If I'm not mistaken, Corel still offers educational discounts, though, so it might be really cheap for me to get into CorelDraw.

    Thank you all! I dunno about educational discounts at Corel. All the stuff I know I larned by myself. I'm using Corel since version 3.0 (Windows 3.0 - ancient history!)

    Like his home-made? I'll do a sparkle blue-burst (airbrush) solid color for this one. The next one will be mahogany with 20mm maple top (carve starts at 30mm, so there will be 5 mm natural binding). That one I'll try to finish in trans red-burst. I have a killer stain from my dad.

    I play that way too, but I don't have problems. In fact I can stretch my fingers quite wide in the first 5 frets or so.

    Do you place something under your left foot to get the angle for the guitar? I've played classical guitar for ten years and I used to have this kind of adjustible stool for my left leg. I hope this helps.

    OK, here are couple of new drawings. This time I drew headstocks for my EBMM/Ibanez JPM7 crossover:

    and for the Pensas from the top of the page:

    The 7 string headstock (upper one has edge chamfers, like the body) is based on the Conklin shape, which reminds me of redesigned Ibanez shape (in-between RG and IC, at least to me :D ), and the Pensa one is fairly accurate to the original. Early Pensas had "P custom" sign on the headstock, not the "Pensa custom" as they have know. Fortunately, my name starts with a "P", so it's kinda neat.

    I don't know what makes a guitar specifically 'Pensa-like'

    Down-sized strat shape body with slimmer horns is main characteristic of the Pensa Suhr guitars.

    Based on the picture, I'd say that the knobs and the switch position are a little off in the drawing. In the picture, they seem to arc from the volume knob through the output jack. In the drawing, everything is in-line.

    Top job otherwise. Much better than I could manage.

    As far as the knobs go, I did them in that fashion cause I wanted to put them away as far as possible. But, it's not end solution. Maybe I'll do it as original for the sake of the 100% Pensa Suhr instrument.

    he redrew the ibanez logo to make it vector format, and that looks cad or vector..

    Actually, it is a CorelDRAW 11.
