  1. 1. Is birch acceptable in a guitar body? What does it sound like? 2. Does a Floyd Rose trem need any type of reinforcements in which it should be mounted, or is it just mounted in the wood?
  2. Ehm, gear you say, eh? -Jackson KE3 --1990, everything original -Morgan Strat copy --1998 or so I guess, bought it from a friend. -A computer --Used as amp and recording thingie
  3. I was right!! /me feels proud of himself To get back a bit to the topic, what about birch (I think that's its name; the tree that is white with black "dots" all over it)? Is that any good?
  4. Nah, that probably won't be easy or good, so I won't do that. I did however for a while consider the option of making a "carved-bottom" guitar, to get some wood around there so it won't stick out, but I don't think it is that much of a problem. Btw, your sig, wes, what is that supposed to mean? (Being from Sweden it's quite hard to figure out what that might be in a certain dialect (is that the correct word?)) The only thing I can think of is "I am retartded. I am so f*cking retarded". Is that what it's supposed to be?
  5. There is one thing you should look out for. The Floyd will require a certain depth. I have done the mistake on my first guitar that I'm building, to choose a too thin thickness, to the Floyd will stick out in the back. Doesn't really bother me, but I thought it might be good to warn you.
  6. May I ask you how much money you've put into this guitar? And, if you ever would sell it, how much would it be? (Just a hypothetical price, I'm not going to buy it)
  7. Uhm, I've got four questions. 1. Alex, what are the depths of the different areas on the original floyd drawing? 2. And what's the distance from the "mounting screws" (or whatever you might call them in english) to the edges of the section that meaures 93 across? 3. What units are these? Millimeters, right? 4. What about the spring cavity? Anyone has any measurements for that one? Sorry about asking a bunch of questions, but I'm going to have to rout this stuff into my first homemade guitar on monday (tomorrow) and I don't have the exact measurements yet.
