  1. Btw, where would you get said pickup covers? There is nothing better than a nice sexy EMG pickup housing, in my opinion. I haven't come across any in my travels across the interweb, heh. Not that I'm planning on buying any more pickups at this stage, haha. But like you said, maybe...

i found some similar to what he's talking about at wd music

here's a metal version metal covers

and here's what i think are the plastic onesplastic covers

  2. You can repair the binding pretty easily by "melting" it back together with a little acetone. It looks like there is a good chunk missing however, so you will have to find something to patch it in with.

sorry about that. i tried to take a pic of it my auto focus went crazy and i figured that it was good enough.

i didn't figure out until a few hours after i posted the pic that my problem was that i wasn't turning on the macro mode that my camera has. i'll be posting a new one as sonn as i take it

$10??? man, WHERE are these garage sales where people buy gear for $10??

sorry I had no advice or anything.. :D

my dad and i go to garage sales almost every weekend, but its hard to find deals like that very often. usally people want way too much for gutiar and other musical equipmet (almost the full retail price usally). some times i get lucky though, a few months ago i bought as ynth module from a guy that kept calling it a "beat looper" for $10 and my dad found a peavy horizon 2 for $20 at another garage sale not too long ago

  3. i bought a 1984 washburn force 8 bass at a garge sale about 2 weeks ago for $10, it dosent have any damage that effects playability, but there is a place on the binding that is damaged and i was wondering if any one could give me some advice on how to fix it. here is a picture of the damage

DAMAGE! the pic is blury, but i think the damage is pretty visible. i'm thinking i can get some similar binding and just cut a pice the size of the whole and glue it in, but i'm not sure if there is a reason that it wouldn't work that way. the only problem i'll have if that will work is that im haveing a really hard time finding red plastic binding, and i dont want to redo all of the binding.

    thanks

  4. this is just in theory i thought of this i havent tried it or seen it tried, how about you paint your guitr white or black (personal) then wrap it in plastic fish net type stuff (i dont know what its called but those chocolate gold coins come in it) then spray you snake skin color/details, remove netting.

i saw an episode of biker build off where some one did somthing like that on a gas tank. they painted the tank black, and then streched some fishnet panty hose over it, and sprayed the base color (a metallic silver), after that dried they took the fishnets off it and they had a scale pattern in black, but they didn't spray a snake design, they sprayed some candy colors over the silver scaled and gave it a cool alien look

  5. okay... ive been wondering this for a while and just never asked, what is a drop top? Is it just veneer of wood on top of a body?

the way i understand it, its a thin cap that is formed to fit an armrest, or some kind of contour, of a bady insted of carving it into the cap. I may be wrong, but im sure someone will correct me if i am

  6. i think its probably a guitar synth i heard that the roland gs-20 and gs-30 have really great orchestral sounds, and have no tracking probloms if they are set up right. but if it is a roland guitar synth it would have to have an internal synth pick up, because i didn't see any wires coming out from under the bridge pick up, or the controls the wire would go to that are usally duct taped or velcroed to the side of the guitar. i couldnt tell if the guitar had a synth pic up on it, because if tis a roland it would be black and mounted between the bridge pick up and the bridge.

it could also be a sound to midi converter (i think thats wha thtey're called), but i heard that the tracking on those are horrible. Oh, just incase you couldn't tell, ima bit of a synth geek :D
