  1. How am I doing? Do I just glue in a piece a wood like this (wood other than cedar) and sand it down?
  2. I want a pot with the switch, not a seperate switch. It must be double throw. I only need a single pole, but double would work. I can't find a 500k pot with a rotary switch that is double throw. I'd even take a push/pull switch that's double throw. I found a couple of sites that have them, but they don't mention the throws. I'm guessing they are single. StewMac has the one, but I don't get the on/on thing.
  3. I want to get rid of the two tone knobs and make it a push-pull knob. Would I need 500k, or would 250K work? Also, I need a knob with a rotary DPDT switch in it. Anyone know whrere I can find these two knobs?
  4. I want inlays that look cool under black light. What whould I use for the inlays, that neon plexi glass stuff?
  5. I wanted this project body, but the binding was coming off. What is it? What is it good for? Do I need it? Can I sand over it and just paint the body as usual? How hard is it to fix?
  6. Are the Tonepros better than the ZW EMGs? I am planning on putting the ZW EMGs in my B.C. Rich, but they are kinda expensive. Doesn't really matter right now, though, because the neck was busted in half and there is a huge gap in it now.
  7. I have a few project guitars that could use a re-fret. One has frets falling out. I was wondering how hard it was, and if I needed any tools to do it.
  8. What's the easiest way to remove inlays, drill them out?
  9. I was bored today and I started sanding a little piece of wood to fit in the crack. After sanding it for a little while and smelling it, I figured out it was cedar......guessing it's not the best wood for the job. There is a little gap but not very wide or deep. Does that matter? I clamped it together to see what it looks like and I was going to take a picture of it, but my batteries are dead in my camera. Also, that first link is pretty good. Should I bust the headstock off and add a huge piece like he did?
  10. Should I take out a rectangle or just make the edges flat?
  11. How much does it take to do inlays in one guitar? I found smaller 1/2 oz tubes for $3. Is that going to be enough?
  12. I'm looking for clear epoxy to finish my neck....I just can't find it.
  13. So I glue the wedge in the crack, then sand until it's smooth with the neck? I'm guessing the wedge won't line up exactly with the crack. Do I use filler and fill in the gaps, or do I glue in other pieces of wood?
  14. I'm having a really hard time doing this. Does the splice have to be a single piece of wood, or can I glue in little pieces until the crack is full?
  15. Yeah, that's mm not cm. Does anyone know the name of the clear jewelry epoxy?
  16. They are both circles; dots. The old ones are ~5.6cm and the new ones are ~4cm
  17. I'd say the new one is about 2/3 the size of the old one. Is the epoxy supposed to be clear? Is there a good brand to use? Also, my board is brown with some black in it. Should I get both brown and black chalk and mix them both with the epoxy?
  18. Where do I get the epoxy, and is there a good kind? Also, do I just go to a craft store looking for chalk? I have a darker fret board. Do they make chalk in dark brown, and how close does it have to match?
  19. Can I just use some kind of clear epoxy or super glue and use enough that it fills in the gap around the new inlay?
  20. I'm looking for a rack mount power supply for the Mackie 32.8 mixer.
  21. I'm actually breadboarding my design now to make them blink with a potentiometer. If you read the Electronics forum, I wanted a potentiometer with a switch in it. I could adjust the blinking with the pot, or I could use the switch and make them stay on. The best I could find is push/pull pot with a DPDT switch from StewMac for $10.
  22. This is a really cheap neck. It came on a guitar I bought for $35. There is no name on it at all. I don't know what the inlays are made out of, the new ones are either clear plastic or maybe glass. The fret board is dark, but I suck at wood stuff, so I can't tell you what it's made out of.
  23. I got some new inlays for my guitar, but they are smaller than the ones I already have. If I drill out the old ones, there will be a gap when I put in the new ones. What should I do?
  24. How should I do this? Should I get a piece of wood and sand it down to fit in the crack, should I glue in smaller pieces of wood until the crack is full, or should I cut the neck until it's a nice square chunk, then add a piece of wood?
