Im getting a tele-style build-it-yourself guitar kit that comes with all the materials needed except for finish. I am thinking of using an oil-based stain on the basswood body, and then finishing over it with tung oil. Any feedback or better ideas? Could you please give me specific directions on how to best finish the guitar?
