If it quacks like a duck...
Yeah, I probably laid it on a bit too thick...a bit...I wasn't intentionally trying for a sales pitch, but that sure ended up looking like one. Apologies extended & if I have violated protocol, it was purely unintentional. If I seem overly enthused, it's becasue I am. I've wanted to do this for my entire life. Now my dreams are coming true. Blame it on NooB enthusiasm.
Avengers63, that's not exactly the color tone I was attempting, but it's close. I'm trying for something a little more blonde-ish. Nice axe there...Kahler w/soapbars...Mmmmm...
Kenneth, your maple top is awesome & I hope you have more success. I thought about going that route, but I just tend to favor big cheezy pickguards that cover half the body. Call it nostalgia.
Yes, ToddW, I agree that it is all a matter of perspective. After looking at bodies from Warmoth, USA Custom Guitars, GuitarMill, a few others, Hefner was the cheapest route for custom made without doing it myself & I posses neither router nor Dremmel at this juncture...not that I'm knocking $50 Ebay bodies. I've just been burned on Ebay so many times...and I was truly expecting a two piece body for the price I paid. To say that I was pleasently surprised would be understatement.
Mitch...Gabby Johnson is Right! [That's a Blazing Saddles reference for those of you playing the home game...]
And finaly, TYVM for the compliment, Fookgub.
Finishing photos to follow after this #$%& ice storm abates.
