finaly geting started on my bass build.whats a good headstock angle for a neckthrough bass?

the trem was in bad shape so i put this chrome one on it but want to get one of the old kahlers that was originaly on the guitar to put back on it

this guitar was baught by rob barret "malevolent creation/hate plow/cannibal corpse".the guitar was a lepard skin color all over new so rob had it painted primer grey.rob then sold it to tony norman "monstrosity/terrorizer/morbid angel".tony repainted the guitar black all over.i baught it from tony about 5 years ago since then the paint has been flakeing and all so i sanded it down to natural color and painted it all camoflauge.tryed to keep as much of the logo as i could on the guitar but some was unsaveable.will post some picks if anyone wants to see them.still have to finish the clear coating and buffing hopefuly tomorrow and reinstall everything.

just my honest opinion but ed roman is a hack.used to and probly still does convert cheap bc rich guitars into usa ones.even makes them or used to and sells them as originals.he use to offer a pretty good bit of $$$ for usa neckplates.probly frauded other companies like jackson also.

brian hoffman has a b.c.rich beast thats trans red with red fret board.might can find info on it.

If you still want a tremolo Kahler makes a trem that mounts to poles like a stop-tail/tune-o-matic setup. Super easy way to get a trem without the routing. Although you'll pay $350USD

still have to rout under the kahler for the springs underneath.its a small rout tho.

quilted maple board would be cool also dyed to mach a body and head.

With the serial number...I believe it is a 99 rg model. Which trem does it have? Does it have the input jack that mounts directly to the body or in a jackplate? Whats the pickup configuration? Does it have the stripe down the back of the neck, or is it all maple? Chrome IBANEZ logo with the white checkmark sounds like a 5 series rg if its a 6 string, not 100 percent sure about the 7s....what color is it also? I can cross reference it with my 99 catalague

ibanez lo-trs trem,looks like dimazio pickups,jack is in the body,2 knobs,5 way switch,24 frets with dots,black with what looks like super small gold flake in the paint.no stripe on back of neck,all maple.

At a guess I would say RG7631 if it's a trem, RG7630 if not. If it's a JEM I presume it will be marked so on the headstock as these were more premium models. I suspect that if you can't tell what model it is then it'll be one of the "common" RG763x models. How old are we talking here?

not shure the guy i got it from had it a few years but never used it no fret ware at all.has a floyd type trem.

only numbers on the head is on the back it says cef9952043 ibanes logo is chrome with the white checkmark and rg series.

i been wondering this for a while.how do you tell what model you have? i used to have a rg570 if i remember right but i only knew that because the tag on the guitar said it.ive got a older 7 string but dont know what model but know its a rg.

toss up between my usa warlock and my usa neckthrou beast they play better than anything i ever owned and do own.the warlock seems to play faster on the neck tho.

i had a few marshalls and crate blue voodoo heads but they didnt fit what i wanted as far as sound .since 95 ive been useing 2 digitech 2101 preamps a 100 watt marshall 9000 series power amp and a 500 watt peavy power amp throu 2 mesa 4x12 rectofier cabs.

only time i ever got shocked by a guitar was my old les paul playing it barefoot on a concrete floor.didnt shock you while you were playing it but when you stoped and layed your forearm across the strings it would get your attention lol.

I guess it would work if they used bars instead of pole pieces. The resonant peak would probably be totally different to a bass pickup maybe. Consider that the EMG35 housing is the same as used for EMG707 and EMG7-81s, and you get the idea that they need to be a bit bigger for bass perhaps.

No idea to be honest. What was you thinking of?

just wondering what the tonal quality would be.would probly clean it up for lower tuneing basses but probly be to midrangey with poor bass response.was just a idea i was thinking of.the pickups would be smaller but what if you put them like split pickups lol thats would be crazy.

anyone ever tryed this before?like a emg 81 or 85 or one of the good dimarzio pickups.

heres the specs from my old ibanez rg 7 string.

width at the nut 1- 13/16

width at end of fret board 2-1/2

fretboard length 19-7/16

25.5 scale length

most b.c.rich guitars ar 25.5 scale some of the handmades are also 24 5/8.

pretty shure all the nj models are 25.5 like the bolton handmade ones.

i had the same problem with the locking tuners i was going to put on my bc rich bich.only had maybe enough room for one wrap of the string if that.the tuners were also for 6 in line headstocks.

Hmm... I just bumped into this thread and was interested in how the Kahlers are engineered.

From what I can see, the only thing that actually pivots is the cam. What balances out the tension of the strings? Ie are there springs somewhere? Are they just below the bridge?

Are you sure you have to recess the floyd?

and if you had to only for up-pulls why not make a proper

shim for the neck and give it the tilt it needs.

i know i may get blasted for this suggetion. but why remove

wood if you don't have to.as for the kahler i have seen some that were

recessed but very few.it would all depend on your situation

Alright fella's, my gf got me a wah pedal for my graduation, its a standard cry baby. Thats all they had in town, i didnt even use it i just took it back cause i knew that she paid way to much for it at the music stores here in town. I told her i wanted a different one anyway, one with more options, i started reading about the 535 and 95Q, but i wanna know who here plays what, and the pros and cons of all. Like i said they dont have any wah's here in town cept the standard cry baby, so going around and playing them is out of the question, im getting mine from musicians friend.

i got a ibanez weapin demon it does ok.freind in morbid angel uses morley bad horsie 2 wahs they are also good and controlable.
