about € 1100,- and I still have to pay for the routing.

I used Humbrol enamel and it worked great for me as you can see.

The thing is: You should poor in the paint swirl it and directly dip your object.

If you wait to long the paint will form a skin and you can start all over again.

Here is the plan:

I would like to make an Acrillic JEM body (same material as the Ibanez JS cristal planet). Problem is that I can only get the acrillic material in pieces of 2050 x 1250 mm with a thickness of 45 mm. And believe me when you order that amount, it's expensive.

Here is my solution:

I can take 16 body's out of this piece. I'll have them routed with a CNC router.

Finally I sell 15 body's and keep one to myself.

My question is:

Is there anyone interested in an acrillic JEM body.

If so let me know (names and email adress) and as soon as I have enough I'll contact you and we'll discuss the rest.

Oh, I almost forgot. The price of one body will be $ 400,- at the most maybe even lower, depending on the number of body's. (this of course is the price without the shipping costs, I live in Holland)

I'm back again and this time I will enter this baby in the Guitar of the month contest.

Body: two piece Alder (computer routed, the contour and cavity lines were so sharp you would easily hurt yourself.

Neck: Wizard neck from an RG550

Fretboard: ebony

Piramide Inlay: green abalone (front), red abalone (side) and blue acrilic (top side)

(I cut out the pieces for the piramides myself, the fretboard was also computer routed)

Fretwire: Dunlop 6105

Pickups: Dimarzio Evolution DP159F (bridge), Dimarzio HS2 in single coil mode and another Dimarzio Evolution DP158F (neck)

Electronics: Ibanez volumepot 500K, Ibanez tone pot 500K with a DPDT push/pull swith (when it is pulled, the bridge humbucker is always on), Ibanez 5-way switch VLW91 and an Ibanez jack-input.

Hardwear: Ibanez Edge with lock nut and retainer bar, Gotoh tuning machines.

Finish: I used a sparkeling white sort of sealer in spraycans (about 10 thin layers. 3 each time then let it dry for about a week, next 3 etc.)

After that, and dont't be surprised, I followed the instructions on the BORAX SWIRLING TUTORIAL on Project Guitar. Indeed using enamel from HUMBROL. I tested a lot, after that swrled it and let it dry for about three weeks.

And finally I put a polyurethane clear coat on top (also from a spraycan and in about 9 layers, wetsanding every 3 layers with 1200 gritt. The last few layers I wetsanded with 2000 gritt. Finaly polished it (by hand) and there was my result.

Note: By applying the polyurethane clear coat the whole thing started to amber. My opinion: "I'm glad it did!"

It's the first time ever I built a guitar, but it won't be the last, trust me.

Hey hey hey... don't blame it on me.. the drawings were perfect!!!! Maybe too perfect for the CNC man, because he couldn't route all of the parts I drew.

He converted the curves for the armrest, lionsclaw and bellycut to vectors, but I drew them smooth. The CNC machine routed several little flat surfaces instead of a smooth curve.

That is exactly what I meant Alex. Your work was excellent.

The first thing I said to my girlfriend was: "Sweety, congratulations, it's a fine lookin' healthy girl."

Only thing left is sanding down headstock, spray on a new coat of black paint, put on a blue(same as pickups) Ibanez logo with my initials JGM (instead of JEM) in the same font as the original and finish it with a few layers of clear coat.

I'm speachless (which doesn't amke for an interesting post).

The neck fitted just fine.

I had to press it in just a little bit, just enough for the neck to stay in place without having to put the neckscrewes in.

We sure love Autocad!

Every part was covert in a layer of black zinc and after that a very thin layer os clear coat.

Only problem is that it not by far as hard as gold plated or the normal black hardwear finish.

But is this also the cause, that the volume pot doesn't work properly?

Because everything works, including the push-pull tone pot.

The volume also works but not the way it should be. When I turn the volume to 10 it's OK, but when I turn the volume Down to 1, it still sounds like it's turned up half.

Could this mean the volume pot is broken, because I ordered it new from Rich at Ibanez Rules?

Yeah, This is the wiring diagram I used for my JEM (exactly the same), only I took the red from the bridge humbucker and conected it to the DPDT and through to the 5-way switch. I did the same with the black and white. The wires are conected to the 5-way switch the same way as as they were before I installed the DPDT. And of course I made a ground with the volume pot

Only with the original VLX91 5-way switch as conected in the same way as the Jem7vwh.

Well, almost finished my abalone swirled JEM now,

Only one problem. I can't get the set up for the pick-ups right.

Problem is:

* The volume doesn't go all the way down.

* In position 2, 3 and 4 I all hear the same pick-ups (the middle (Dimarzio HS2) and one coil of the humbucker(Dimarzio Evolution DP159F bridge))

I don't understand, I tried different things with the 5-way switch(Original Ibanez VLX91), but everytime I end up with the same result.

I used the original wiring diagram from the Ibanez JEM 7VWH (JEMsite), but instead of a jem single coil I used a Dimarzio HS2 in single coil mode and as an addition I used a 500K tone pot with a DPDT push-pull switch (When it is pulled the bridge humbucker is always on)

Can You guy help me.

I saw the pictures of those switches and they are defenately not the same.
