  1. thank you both for your input. to me it seemed the only difference between the two is that the AVT has adjustable saddles. Would not having those saddles affect fixing intonation issues on a guitar?
  2. Hey guys I just had a question about a couple of wraparound bridges since I am not sure which one to purchase. TonePros AVT-II or TonePros VTNA "Aluminum Featherweight" Locking "Vintage" Bridge Tail Combo Ive been leaning towards the VTNA but soley based on looks. I just think it looks better. anyway, which one would you say is better in terms of sound or affecting tone? Ive heard alot of great things about the tonepros locking studs now I just need to decide which bridge to purchase. any input is appreciated thanks!
  3. ok well I appied the laquer, like 10 layers. Let it cure for over a month, then started sanding with 600, then 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500 after that I went and bought some maguirs swirl remover, and rubbed it on with a microfiber cloth and buffed the thing by hand and thats basically all I did.
  4. So I wet sanded the guitar, applied the swirl remover and i have scratches! like the very top layer is shiny and smooth. When I hold the guitar at an angle it looks great! but once i look straight down on it I see all those horrible swirls what did I do wrong? and is there a way to fix this? thanks NOO
  5. Ok so I just finished wet sanding to 2500 now I was thinking of just going to buy some maguirs swirl remover and rubbing it down for that shine should I be good?, or are there any other steps I need to take in between, like rubbing compound and what not thanks for your help!
  6. So I have a guitar which I want to draw on. I would probably want to use pastel pencils, maybe some paint markers, pencil, pen. what would be the best base coat to put on the guitar to be able to draw on it. I was thinking maybe some primer and then some flat white over it...other than that I really don't know also, since i am going to draw on it, will finishing it be even more difficult? since it will obviously not have completely smooth surface is there anyone out there that has tried this before? I would greatly appreciate your advice thanks
  7. which is better for a guitar, oil based, shellac based, or solvent based?
  8. Is grain filler the same thing as wood filler?
  9. thanks your response was very helpful yea im more interested in the process of building a guitar, I do realize this isnt gonna be an amazing quality guitar...i mean it is under 200 bucks.. but then again this would be the first guitar i ever build.. thanks for your help man
