Its funny you mentioned this because in my area you can not find and titebond i have looked hi and low. So i decided to do a test i took a 3 foot piece of ash scrap 1 inch thick by 4 inches wide. Then i cut it in half and then glued it back together (end grain to end grain) with gorilla glue (wood glue) and i can not break that piece or wood and it will suport all my weight and i weigh 260lbs!!!!
i think this stuff is amazing this is the best glue i have availiable in my area by far.
+1

the gorilla wood glue is actually a very good guitar building wood in my expierences, and its all my local lutiers use.

anybody have plans for the ibanez aanj?
-
im cotemplating the bolt on purely because im used to playing guitars with large joitns such as the one in the pic you posted, and i think this would be the easiset for me to play.
-
so warmoth just moves the neck pickup route back a little? what if the tenon in the pic was used for a set neck?
-
here was my idea
http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=TsEwKh0
the red box is the tenon and the dots are bolts...would this be sturdy?
-
what are the other "difficult" parts on an sg?
-
so a set would be easier than back bolt?
-
i think ill try back bolt...this is my first build after all
-
I cant decide whether to do a set neck SG or go with back bolt...which would be more stable?

measured my jackson and it is 13*

does the amp need a POWER SOURCE?
-
The main thing i cant figure out is how to wire the thing...ive never actually seen a 4x12 exept in pictures and i cant tell if they need a powersource (sad i know )
-
Ive searched and i cant seem to find any good tutorials on building a 4x12 cab...so any pointers guys?
-
i just going to take it to my local luthier and have him fix it...hes only gonna charge 15-20$

You seriously want to cut down the whole thing because the nut you have is too narrow? DUDE!!!!! Buy a different nut!
true, any brand u recomend?
-
Re-make the neck blank to fit the fretboard.
Unless you've already glued it down. If that's the case, you're S.O.L.
The only issue is my nut is too small and its from ebay...
-
Personally, I would start over and use this board for something with a wider neck (if I understand your problem). It's just easier to make something right the first time rather than trying to make it fit something else.
The only problem with this is that i paid 70$ for this board...

im located in OKC

Does anybody offer this service? Im scared to do it myself...would anyone do this for me if i payed them
-
would it be better to try and just replace a few frets instead? ie 1-12 are the ones that need to be shaved down
-
thanks...im gonna go nice and slow...see if i can save some money.
-
If i were to remove the frets from my board to re-shape it, could the wire still be used again after re-shaping?
