  1. yeah, i used a toothbrush and mothers polish on the fretboard and parts of the trem. The frets cleaned up nice and the trem started turning chrome but i didnt want to take the trem apart and clean yet, i didnt want to open up a can of worms i just wanted to play the darn thing. I have never played a guitar with active pickups, man this guitar sounds really good.
  2. newbe here but a lurker here for years and I finally have a guitar to hotrod somehow. A good friend of mine gave me a schecter hellraiser thats in very good condition but.......all the metal surfaces were rusted and corroded. Pickup screws are rusted, trem has the black corroding off and is mstly chrome now, locking nut is turning green and the tuners are losing the black too and turning chrome. I have never seen frets rust but these were and i had to get mothers and polish em. he only used it for a month and then stored for a couple of months and was so surprised when he opened the case to see all the crud....was so pissed of, he just gave it to me. btw, he has many guitars and this is the only guitar to do this. My plans are to just try to clean up as much as i can and then paint it. Has anyone ever seen this or heard of schecters doing this? The neck says made in korea, and came with duncan pickups.
