  1. i have the same issue with my crate blue voodoo half stack. changed tubes, biased, different cabs...all that stuff. the other guitarist in my band uses a 5150. his colume stays around the 3-4 range. mine is up in the 7 area. i also played with some one with a 5150 combo...which is 60 watts and it was the same story. i have no idea what the problem is. i think its just dependant on the different amp manufacturers...

  2. hey guys. im having a problem. i just installed some duncan live wires into my guitar but the neck doesnt seem to work. it seems like its not getting any power from the battery, but i checked every connection and it all looks fine. the bridge pup works perfect...its just the neck one thats having trouble. if i crank the amp i can barely hear it. i followed the instructions that came with the set perfectly and everything lines up and is connected well. any one know how to fix it or what the problem is? thanks guys.

  3. hey guys. i am sorry for posting this cuz im sure its been answered on here before, but i couldnt find it using the search function.(i searched fro dead fret and didnt know what else it could be under) any way...i got this ibanez sz720 and it has a fret that dies out only when i play that fret on the g string (the third fret dies out or sounds the same as the fourth fret). i know the most obvious thing to do would be to pull the fret and put in a new one, at least its obvious to me, but i dont have the skill to do that yet. is there any other way to get this to sound right? maybe file down the fourth fret a little bit? i guess its not that big a deal since its only that one spot but i like that fret and that string. any help you guys could give i would really appreciate. thanks...

  5. does any one know anything about modifying crate blue voodoos? i have read that they r pretty easy to mod and i have some experience with these kinds of things but not enough to be confident in taking apart my main amp without getting some guidance and advice first. i was looking into installing a noise suppressor into it and maybe changing out some of the capacitors and tube distributors to higher voltage ones. and maybe making some mods to make it sound better, but i dont really know where to start on that area. thanks.

  6. My 7 string has a single pup....duncan invader....in teh bridge and just sounds so deep and deadly. my ibanez ahs an invader in teh bridge and a jazz in teh neck. the invader lets every note be heard so clearly and makes my harmonics squeel like theres no tomorrow. the jazz gives such a aprkling clean tone and sounds soooo good playin clean leads. in teh middle position the output is much lower tho and the guitar makes a lot of noise. but i just throw on the noise suppressor and the tone is just on godly level. the ibanez is much brigter than the 7 string...i think thats due to the construction and wood tho. i love duncan and use them exclusively...

  7. im not sure if its stereo. i know that when i put te single footswitch that i made into it and i only put it part of the way it just switches the gain selection, if i put it all the way in it switches from gain channel to clean annel, but it doesnt stay on the gain selection that i like. so i guess thats where im running into the problem. thanks.

  8. Hey. I have been searching for a couple days now and havent been able to find what im lookkin for. I just got a crate mx65r and it didnt come with a footswitch. I just wanted to know if any knew how to make a 2 button switch for this thing. i have a 1 button one that i use for my blue voodoo. i tried that but it doesnt work. it has the gain channel which has 2 different gains on it and it has a clean channel. you can switch from the gain to clean, but u cant switch the different gains. any way any help that you guys could give would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

  9. well the guitar is set up with the 2 humbuckers...each is wired to its own volume knob and there is one tone knob. it has a 3 way toggle switch. the bridge pup has no noise at all. the middle position has a ton of excess noise and the neck pup has some excess noise, but not nearly what the middle position has. when i had the original pups in there was no noise in any position. also the bridge pup has significantly higher output than the other positions, but i think thats because its an invader and is supposed to have more output. thanks guys.

  10. man that v a couple posts up is simply BEAUTIFUL. i think that would be a really good choice. on teh project i just finished i went with a flat black kinda deal where the wood isnt sanded smooth. it has a lot of rough patches that show throught the paint and kinda make it look like the wood was burned in the depths of hell. which is what i was going for. whatever u decide im sure it will turn out awesome!!
