This might be a silly question but, does anyone forsee any problem using KTM-9 over paint. I only ask because all the pics I've ever seen featuring guitars done with KTM are natural wood finishes (a lot of acoustics). BTW, I did search the forum first but found nothing. Thanks in advance.

This is the one I use: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Fretting_suppl..._Fret_File.html
It came with the fretting essentials kit that I bought. It works great. You might consider getting a kit like this, or at least getting all of the tools that are in the kit. I use them all the time.

Is your decal iron on or rub on? If you're worried about the heat, go with a rub on decal. you can buy laser printable rub on decal paper. You have to make sure the surface is smooth. I would even apply the decal between clear coats. (1 or 2 coats - wetsand to 600grt - apply decal - finish clear coating)

This is my first GOTM submission. Here goes nothing. This is a tele-style solid body I just finished. It's a 3pc brazilian mahogany/maple body with a quilted sapele top. The neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard (and skunk stripe). I inlayed paua abalone in the body and my logo is inlaid on the headstock. All gold hardware with abalone capped knobs. It has a tung oil finish on the body and satin lacqur on the neck. This guitar was wired with two humbuckers (GFS Dream 180s) and a dual coil tap. Pull the tone knob and you get outside coils, pull the vol knob and switch to inside coils. This gives 9 tone options that are each adjustable with the tone control. I also instaled the Buzz Feiten Tuning System for perfect intonation across the entire fretboard.

Hey all,
I searched the forums and couldn't find the answer.
The question:
I have 2 p90's in a tele style guitar. I busted my 3way switch BUT I have a 5way switch. How do I wire this in a way to use all 5 positions? (Is it possible or will I end up with 2 dead positions?) Any suggestions?

Hey guys,
I've also been building natural looking, oil finished guitars without pore filling. My question is this:
on the Mahogany and maple it looks great BUT On my spalted maple top it looks punky and blotchy because the surface is not level. What can I use to fill this under a tung oil finish?
Any suggestions would be great.

Yes. But, what I mean is over a solid block color of, say, automotive paint from a spraycan. I've painted a guitar black and in the past I've used this high gloss spray (varathane, I think) but the fumes are crazy even with my mask on. I've used KTM on bare wood (sealed but unpainted) and I really like it. So I'm wondering if I can use it over my black paint job.
