  1. However, they are *never* this particular edition, they're always either the white green and black one that looks like squares, or the one that looks like paint splatters. I've never seen this one anywhere else.
  2. Bump... I'm thinking about selling it in lieu of building my guitar and wish I knew how much to price it at.
  3. Ended up using a rasp It turned out pretty damn good for never using one before. Fretboard was glued and it's drying now I don't have enough time to inlay it though - the project is due the 11th, so I guess I'll have to inlay it later Still need those wiring pictures though!!
  4. I was gonna buy Behlen from Stewmac. Unless there's somewhere cheaper - stewmac's prices rip your face off more or less.
  5. Well, the project is finally winding down and I'm in the home stretch. I just have some final questions to ask... How many quarts of nitro lacquer should I buy to do an ibanez jem with opaque white coloring? What's a good way to round the back of the neck (I don't really trust myself enough to use a rasp :-\ )? I'm sure I'll have some more, I'll add them as I think of them. OH! Where's that one website with the pictoral diagram of how a jem7vwh electronics are set up? I'm really crappy when it comes to understanding schemata like that, but I remember a website that was just like pictures and I totally got it :-P
  6. Good idea with the overlay, prs man. That would keep it from cracking as easily, I would suppose, and provide a nice even surface
  7. Is this going to be strong enough?? I cut my headstock angle like so:
  8. Thanks much! I bought a compound radius fretboard - this won't affect anything, right?
  9. Can someone give me in-depth measurements of a JEM777's neck? I.E., height and width of the end of it, height and width at the nut, thickness of the headstock, etc.
  10. Well, there is another issue... when making the body, I was dumb to think I could freehand rout the neck pocket and I made it too wide, so I think I'm going to rout a square around it and fill it in with another piece of mahogany that was cut off as excess, then re-rout that piece to the correct pocket size. Unless anyone else has a more efficient/easier way of doing this
  11. Well, anyone know where I can buy a truss rod from? StewMac is out of stock, and I kinda need one as soon as possible...
  12. Tell him he should stain the headstock to match the darkness of the body. Then it'd look real sexy-like!
  13. If you donate, there are plans in the donation download section!! I highly suggest it! As for printing... I went to my tech ed room in the high school and had them print it for me. Took some fiddling around, but we got a full size, to-scale printout made.
  14. I finally relocated it to my own server at http://www.seldemon.com/projectfolder/index.html so there's no bandwidth problems anymore! I also posted more progress since last time! Can anyone give me tips on how to rout the truss rod channel and also how to get the fingerboard onto the neck perfectly straight??
  15. Nah, I meant for routing cavities... but it was already answered via "chisel"... however, chisels kind of scare me :-\
  16. How do you guys go about routing perfectly square edges?
  17. To fit the 24 fret neck, you'd just have to rout a small cavity through the body to accomodate for the fretboard to sit in. However if your pickups directly touch the 22nd fret, then no, unless you completely rennovate it. However, the question you're asking, no. The guitar would be completely out of tune if you simply bolted on a 24 fret neck to a 22 fret guitar because the scale length would have to be different
  18. Ah, I had just read that somewhere that it was 5 degrees... but using some trigonometry, I found that the actual angle is .999999993408 degrees. Or 1. Heh, does that sound more like it? :-P I posted more pictures today of progress, feel free to check 'em out
  19. Anyone have any information on the Sobe promo guitar that was (supposedly) limited edition? Like.. how many were made? And if you had ever seen it before? I heard 50 somewhere, 100 another place, and some guy on MTV cribs had one or something and said there were like 3 made. I bought it off of eBay a couple years back and figured this would be a good place to ask such a question. Picture of it is here: http://www.epiphone.com/images/sobehero.jpg
  20. Will someone with a Jem please take a picture of the back of their wired pickguard for me please? Thanks in advance!
  21. Tell me how I'm doing for my first guitar! http://www.geocities.com/fm_ninja2/seniorproject.html
  22. Indeed, I was talking about the anchors. Thanks much! I've never seen a jem so I have nothing to base anything off of except schematics
  23. Just giving this a bump to better my chances of getting it answered by about 3 EST today
  24. I'm building a Jem 777 and was wondering how deep I should drill the tremolo mounting holes - should I make it so that the top of the plastic piece is flush with the top of the guitar?
  25. So, perhaps the easiest and most time-effective way would be to simply modify the join area of the neck to conform to the error then? However, I still need tips on actually making this neck (Probably post them in the topic I made for it...)
