As you can see by the info on the left, im sorta new to the whole guitar refurbishing, making, thing. Wont a softer wood give more of a tone? Or the other way around, or what? thx in advance.

I was searching around trying to find parts for building my first guitar, and I came across a Saga Guitar kit. Does anybody reconize this? Do you know how high quality the parts are? Judging by the low price (around 100) I was thinking it might not make a very good guitar. Imput?

Update: I sanded down the bumps, then re-primed it, and i just started painting green.

salrite already managed to ruin it, it was sticking to the newspaper, so i lifted it up and it fell on its wet side, making a area around 4 inches in diameter to have tiny little bumps from the asphalt, and mixing the wet primer with dirt. wetsanding tomarrow it looks like

Alrite, I was thinking about making a design on my guitar that im currently painting. What im doing is, I just primed it, Ill paint the spot where i want the design to be black, then print out the design on sticker paper, stick it to the black, then paint over all of this in green. Now, what im thinking is, will this create small bumps where the green and black meet, or would some of the green peel? Just trying to get all the info i can so i dont ruin it.

Thanks, its really ugly alone, but with black it looks amazing. Im keeping a log of all the things i do to it, ill post it up when im done.

Nope, nothing says "Im a teenage boy whos confortable with my sexuality, but it late for the trend" like pink. I thought about it, but it was just a style thats already out in ny.

Im saving up to buy a cabnet, and I had this guitar laying around being unplayed, Im really willing to take anything i can get for this thing. No, I was thinking more, sanding off the gloss. I wasnt sure if the paint would just drip off of it or what. I know Ive got to prime it first, but before I ruin it, Im just making sure I get all the facts.

Hey guys, as you can see Im new here, and Im glad to find a forum that has alot about painting, because Im painting my old strat. Its either that or Im gunna smash it, cuz this things really not worth it. Anywho, thought it would be a good idea to paint it up, make it look cool. Alrite back to the topic. Sanding. Do I need to sand it down? If so, what grit would your recommend? Ive been told not to use a sander because of all the edges, its too easy to ruin it.
