Hi guys, I want to achieve this matt walnut finish on alder by ESP Japan. Here's the pix: I think that using a darker grain filler like umber brown + walnut stain and sanding back will get what I want? This there a better way to get the exact color? Thanks for any pointers!

Hey guys, Have anyone tried Ronseals Diamond Hard colored varnish or the Ultar Tought clear varnish? Both are polyutherane and seems to be well accepted for wood working, are these good enough for instruments? They do seems to provide lots of colors to choose from and on the site, international shipping is available, so that maybe good news for us outside the USA. cheers
