My first bass was the 30" Les Paul bass copy. The only detail I don't liked was the terrible neck dive, otherwise I'd kept it.
Anyway, I am one of those anti-sustain guys. Foam mutes forever

I don't remember how much I paied... Something like 30 Euros for the set of 4.
Found them on ebay.
Thinking....
No, looks like they arn't the real hipshot ultralights, too cheap
-
I tried, it doesn't work
The tuners are "hipshot lic". Does it mean they are "true" Hipshots or just licenced by Hipshot (like "Duncan desined" pickups aren't the true duncans)?

Cannot wait to see it finished!

great looking work, one question for ya, what does using the shorter scale provide for sound wise?
MzI
Basically: bolder attack, lesser definition (more "muddiness"), shorter sustain.
But between the 34" and 32" there won't be so much difference as between 34" and 30".
My idea was to create the bass strung with roundwounds to sound a little bit more like flatwounds keeping the feel of roundwounds.

It's not bright, it's shiny

I guess I'm just dense, but until I read a build documentary on his site, I would have thought to pulfer, you'd route just like binding, and then BIND with abalon and hten bind AGAIN over that with a similar wood. But the way he does it... obviously makes my pre-conceptions VERY foolish! All you gotta do is use that stewmac dremel base with the edge thing! Genious!
Verhoevenc, do you have the link to this documentary? Is it on the forum or the main site?
thank you!

I love this headstock!

My B&D had 3 collets: 6mm, 8mm and 1/4". Or you can buy conversion aftermarket collets too

Check routerbitworld.com too, great prices, good quality.

I wish I had a garage Actually, I am living in the Paris suburb's appartment (read "small") and work in the corner of my kitchen. Those are my son's dominos but laptop is actually mine. WiFi is nice thing to have!
You could tell from the picture that I brush my hair sometimes

contoured the body (1/2 roundower router bit) and routed the pickup cavities.
Now waiting for the birdseyes maple board from Larry Davis and the trussrod from my local supplier...

Well, to comply with this forum rules, I repost my pictures one pic per post. Btw, why this rule isn't applied on everyone? I see here the current projects with at least 2 or 3 pics per post ("Weapon of mass destruction" for exemple).
Here it goes:
-
Specifications:
° 32", 4 strings, 24 frets
° 3-ply set neck: Northern ash - Ramin - Northern ash. Set or bolt-on.
° Body made of the same core as the neck + zebrano wings.

My question is simple: what happends if I post here the pictures from my current projects already featured on other forums? Will it be concidered as "abuse"? I just like to share what I do with more people but I don't want to get the "negative" image
Or should I better create my proper site and just post the links here?

I'll post the pictures of my project in the "current projects" area.

It will be pore filled and finished with the Danish oil / carnauba wax, excepting fret board who gets the satin poly finish for better protection.
