Last time I checked, you couldn't get black plastic covers or chrome covers for emgs...

I'd still have a problem with the cosmetics of the guitar if I had one emg and other pickups in it. I like all my pickups to be matching, at least in appearance.

Thats the cheapest I'll get it for tbh. Will it do heavier gain stuff like Metallica and general heavy rock/metal stuff?

It won't be a straight bridge though. Setting the middle of the bridge (at the right angle) at 25.5" should be about perfect afaik.

What are people's opinions on Peavey Bandit II's?

I can't really get there easily. I suppose I should just go down some Saturday. Unfortunately, tickets aren't cheap and time isnt' available. Plus they have a distinct hatred of people trying their guitars...

Guitars are a different story. I have to make a personal 'connection' with a guitar, I don't care how much it costs or how cool it looks or anything, I have to form a personal rapport with it before the money flies.

Always ground the pot casing and only have one ground wire coming in. Solder the ground from the jack and ground from the bridge to the same pot then take a wire from that pot to the other pots.

Erik, if I was to get a MIM strat (and that's an option) there's something not right abuot running €250 worth of guitar through a €800 amp imo.
