  1. No, you don't need locking tuners and a locking nut. If you have a floating trem (Edge, Floyd Rose, etc.) then a locking nut would be a really good idea so the string doesn't move through the nut when you dive on the trem. However, if you have a stop bar or standard trem, locking tuners would be very nice cos they'll keep everything in tune a bit more.

  2. LEDs use very little juice, itl wil last plenty long enough.

Actually, if you have 10 or so LED's in parellel, they're gonna use quite a bit of juice so the battery won't last that long.

And you can buy self blinking LED's.

  3. As far as I know, you have to have a battery.

Unless you have magic self powered LED's you do. However, I'll assume you have about 10 led's going into the neck. If you run those straight to the battery, a standard square 9v battery will last only a VERY short time considering the current drain that's goin to be on it!!!

  4. Hi, I have a spare Floyd Rose lying about that I want to install on a Epiphone strat. It's going to be non-recessed and I don't have the locking nut but I'll probably end up putting a Trem-setter on it. I just want to know stuff about removing the old posts, putting in new ones, distances, routing patterns and that sort of stuff. Cheers.

  5. There's a device available that is two movable arms with crocidile (sp?) clips on the end of them. You can put a circuit board or wires or whatever in them and they ain't going to move. For soldering pots, I put the shaft of the pot in a beer bottle and solder away!!!!

    Yes, I am a student.
