In fairness, that's probably just a spelling mistake for guys. Give him the benefit of the doubt, eh?
But that is a gorgeous body though.
-
Tony for me. I just love the M-II body shape and the ESP head. At least, I think that's what it's based on
-
That has been raised in the "Tremol-no has been licensed" thread.
-
Off topic but that site rocks!

Dibs on the position if Perry doesn't take it
Seriously, congrats Perry.
-
I noticed that but it's a hell of a lot of hassle. I'd prefer a delete button.
-
Aye, definately a good deal for free but I just like the ability to easily delete and to have hidden files.
-
And I greatly dislike that all the mp3s are in one common directory.
-
And I've found there's no option to delete mp3's. At least, there's no obvious one.
-
Pretty much. You just have to replace whatever code is usually rendered with.
-
Which resizing do you mean though - filesize or dimensions?
And if they don't have your password, no one can modify files on your server if you have your permissions sorted out properly.
-
Depends what he means. If he means file size, then that'd require all pictures being uploaded to the server. If he means height and width, it's easily done by just editting one php file on the server. Bandwidth usage stays exactly the same.

Reckon the first one is the way to go.
Way ahead of you lads. Problem with that is you have to load the full size picture, then shrink it.

My god, the irony from that post is quite amazing...
Sorry if this comes across as flaming but you just did what you're trying to stop.
-
But if you only had to move one in, you could have stared at the girl for longer
-
More threads to move out than to move in. More clicks. Or something. 3:40am is no time to argue. I've said my bit, made all the suggestions I can think of so I'll bid you adeiu.
-
More effort to move threads out. Let the posters post their pictures in the normal sections but mark the thread as being a title, using the sub-title bar thing (the text box under the title box when posting a new thread).
-
Well, I'm on a couple hundred moderated posts and I haven't been moderating that forum for long. I can understand need to just get it done.
What do you think about my suggestion earlier to make the tutorial section mod only for new Threads? If someone wants to make a new tutorial, they make it in the relevant sections (In Progress, Electronics, etc). If it's decent, move it to the Tutorial section. It would stop all the non tutorial posts in there. There should be more than enough mods about to make it work.

Oh believe me, I know what it's like dealing with people whinging through pm. Depending on what rule was broken, I'll either edit the post and reply telling the poster what they did wrong and providing them with a link to the rules.
Fair enough, you have your way of dealing with things but I'm just giving you my opinion on things based on how I interpret them. That's what's needed around here, a feedback forum
-
Hmm, I dunno. There's something about this forum lately that really ****** me off but I can't put my finger on it. There's a huge amount of information available on this forum but getting to it annoys me. I really can't explain.
But another thing. Mod and admin edits, like with pictures in threads. Instead of a mod or admin straight away editting the post, warn the poster on thread and maybe by pm so they'll do it themselves. Easier for people to learn that way, even if it does inconvience people for a minute or two while the pictures load.

What seriously confuses me is that the forum ran reasonably well for ages, with some great members posting (LGM, drak, Rhoads, AlexVDL) but now these members and others are being attacked and driven away from the forum that they helped become what it is today. There's something very wrong there.

i am not the guy to send that to...you guys have some good suggestions, but sending them to brian is the way to go...i don't understand all of that code stuff, and i have no power to implement it anyway...i appreciate that you take the time to look into it,but really, send it to brian.
you would be surprised how many suggestions i get in my p.m. box...to be honest i rarely read them...since i don't understand how any of that stuff works,i don't want to be the one passing on all of that stuff to brian, because if it is crap, then i am the one that looks a fool for sending him all the crap(not that your suggestion is...just telling you why i don't pass them on)
i get alot of alarmist stuff too...similar to "your whole forum could go down any second if you don't read and understand these 10 web pages of nerd content and get back to me!!!!"
OK, that's fair enough. I'll forward them on to him so.
brian doesn't want that...but it may come to that,if it hasn't already....i have not noticed much cursing lately, have you?Admittedly, people have been quite reserved but I still have to think twice then erase what I wrote when I'm on this forum. I often use swearing to illustrate a point. Probably not a good thing but it's there.
never going to happen...the first option is not a way to encourage an open forum...and the search function is VERY obvious...it's the newb that doesn't want to search that is the problem...you could make the search function 480 by 640 and put it at the top of the page and the same guys would still be scrolling past it to post a new topic "can i use the pine in my dad's headboard to make a neck?"Even something like changing the background of the New Thread box to something like "Have you searched for this topic thoroughly first?" might help. Again, that's a php hack that Brian would need to look into.
BTW, I appreciate you taking the time to answer my queries.
-
Not even a reason why. As far as I'm concerned, Mods don't have to answer to us. Sure, it'd be nice to know why a post was deleted but you can more than likely assume it was either way off topic or just spam.
