ask yourself a question,
are you dying fabric?
-
i used to have an aerosmith game that rocked.
you had a pick with a wire going to your printer port and you would strum a tennis racket.
basically things came up on the screen and you had to strum in time with solos and stuff, and if you missed a note it wouldnt play.
it was cool but i have no idea where it came from or what it was called

if you started up a thread where everyone could put up allll the questiobn sthat they still dont understand, or the questions they didnt understand when the started off. then make it so that any body can post up an answer to these questions so that you can get a decent summary of one question, looked at from every angle by a couple of different people.
that sounds like a forum to me

iirc the reason for not doing a FAQ in the past is that it ruins any chance of discussion - faq's kill conversation.

jack's 'cut out' noises are made by hitting the pickup with the ball of your hand.

heyo folks,
im in the process of building a rat, and this morning my package of components arrived, and the resistors are freakin huge.
they're 2w, will these work ok?
bear in mind, i can solder, thats about as far as my electronic expertise goes
-
Sorry Matt, I think that looks awful.
I am, however, intrigued by the pickups. Anybody know what this sounds like?

http://www.tonepad.com/ sell printed circuit boards for many many many pedals, all you have to do is buy the components...im only just starting with pedals so i ordered a couple, will let you know how they turned out
-
thanks doc, i'll try it tomorrow.
and as to whats wrong with getting a groupie to hold it between my legs?
well first off, i dont have any...and if i did then they would be holding something between my legs, and it wouldn't be a lead
-
heyo,
so my weird old guitar came, and quite suprisingly the output doesnt work unless i hold the lead between my legs, which is slightly unconventional
soooo i come to removing the scratchplate, yet of course, with the guitar being around 40 years old...the screws are dead...nothing for the screwdriver to cling onto, any ideas of how to get these out?
and incase anyone mentions it, i dont have access to a drill for drilling the screws out
cheers.

you can get all of that from the maplin website as far as i know, but theres one thing that will throw you off when ordering capacitors, and here is what you need to bear in mind:
A capacitor's capacitance (something like electrical storage but alittle different) is measured in Farads or F for short. You can derive smaller units from that, and derived units use prefixes:milli (mF) 1mF = 0.001F
micro (uF) 1uF = 0.001mF
nano (nF) 1nF = 0.001uF
pico (pF) 1pF = 0.001nF
stolen directly from aron nelsons wonderful forum
