well having had a rake through my house all i can find is some polyurothane varnish and some old danish oil.
Would either of them do?

I think i've got my violin kit ready for finishing. my question is can i go ahead and use any varnish or do i have to use special stuff?

My friends ask me to make them guitars alot and for the most part i do tell them that i wont, i will make them for birthdays and stuff though.
I can pretty much work out the cost of a guitar by just adding up what i spent on the parts, what i was wanting to know is how much people like you (Perry) charge for your time and skills.

i was wondering what you think is an "ok" amount to charge people to have a guitar made for them?
After you add up the cost of metirials for it ofcourse.

Just look at the picture of the origional and cut yours at the same places, you can tell what line to cut along by working out what fret the cut starts and ends at, then just fret it as normal.

I got a flat sawn purple heart neck blank for sale, it measurse 38", 1 1/4" by 2 3/4".
I can post it anywhere in the UK via the royal mail.
I duno what to ask for this so just name your price and we'll see what happens.

This really isnt working, i heated the area and did it all as you said and it still won't hold
Im taking it to the shop to get it done next week, i've had ENOUGH of it.

Ok, i'll try that, if that doesn't work im going to take it to a shop i found that does repairs on violins and has a proper workshop.

im doing it in my bedroom, it should be worm in there cause the heatings on and theres a fire going
