  1. I recently got a new wiring kit for my guitar, because it had a few loose connections, and I made a bit of a mess of it with my soldering. I've soldered it together (without making a mess of it!) according to the instructions (Right hand diagram shown below), but for some reason, the tone pots aren't working properly. They seem to be working like on/off switches, rather than potentiometers. I can't work out what I've done wrong. I've only done one thing differently. On the original diagram, the bridge pickup is wired to be switched between single and double coil, via the pull switch on the volume pot. I've joined the wires of the humbucker bridge pickup, rather than soldering them to the pull switch on the volume pot, since I don't need the single coil function. I don't see how this would make any difference to the rest of the circuit. Anyone got any idea what's going on?
