Hi there all. Came across this website a couple of years ago (think it's been 3 years by now) where i started reading up on guides who've all proven to be extremely helpfull. Anyways, some of the guitars i modded with various project guitar guides: Ibanez RG 7321 Guess this was my first major project so oh boy where to begin... This guitar pissed me off royally for about 6 months till i decided to do something about it myself. I originally bought it as a back up guitar next to my main one at the time. The nut was all wonky (crap ass QC ftl...), the neck didn't really feel right either. And kinda wanted To try my first scalloping job since my main guitar was fully scalloped aswell (and i hated the guitar so much i honestly didn't care if i screwed up or not lol). The neck pickup hole got closed up with epoxy (along with the tone pot & switch) & the guitar got painted white. The scallop turned out great & overall the guitar was decent then (reinstalling the nut really helped a lot adding some dept to the high A slot). For some reason the sustain increased aswell, I'm still not entirely sure wether it's due to the epoxy or setup (or mixture of both). Surprzingly, it got sold very quickly wich i didn't expect to happen at all. next my 2 current guitar, only scalloped (S7420 & RG7420): That's about it really. Anyways, for the questions: If you were on a budget, would a dremel be a decent investment (especially since you can buy an extention for it to turn it into a top router)? i'm in particular eying the dremel 4000 since it looks great for routing & engraving aswell, kind of an all in one. what's people's opinion about this item? And second and lastly is about swirling. only thing i'm kind of confused about is the borax itself & where to get it (google translate is not helpfull for this particular item) the one i've found states that Borax = Na2B4O7. the questions been asked on the page so i'm hoping someone could answer it. this is the page but in dutch (http://www.drogister...ampaign=beslist) Don't really wanna end up with 2 pound of borax that's useless really. Anyways, that's about all on my end so hopefully i'll be able to post some more mod stories & maybe a build story in the future.
