  1. Gorgeous! Is this from scratch or parts from Warmoth, etc? This is absolutely stunning@!
  2. Oh, after reading the intro of someone else, I figured I'd mention my time-line a bit as well: I have been playing guitar for 17 years and have played in clubs from florida to texas and even in Japan! That's an opportunity most don't get to experience but I was once in the Navy and made every second count I got into the electronics of music back in 96 and have never looked back. I obtained an associates degree in electronics in 2001 and try to make use of it in my hobbies all I can. I'm a software developer for the 3rd largest trucking company in the US. Funny how my hobbies don't really meet my career. Well, enough about me!
  3. LOL...that's just to show you the reigning power of Edward LOL
  4. I didn't see anyone mention using plain wood filler for filling in routed spaces on the body. I've used this but noticed after a period of time, the filler shrinkgs and has to be touched up. Other than this set-back, what other problems can be expected from using wood filler over a period of time? Is it possible it may lose it bond and 'fall' out of the guitar? What I'm speaking of, of course, is filling in large holes like the input jack hole (think of the large hole a strat uses for it jack plate) or the pickup routing or the back where the springs may have been (although, I would probably use wood blanks back there and touch up with some filler :S)
  5. I've taken one of my old axes down to the sealer. I still have some sealer and some bare wood. What's the best-bet grit to get the sealer off without taking too much wood with it? I read here that someone suggested 320 (I think). I've actually tried to take wood sealer and simply cover up the mess but I think I've made things worse. LOL Do most people take it down to bare wood? If I'd been paying more attention, I would have taken it down to just the sealer
  6. Hi! I've been repairing guitars, footpedals and amps for about ten years now off and on. Mostly for my own amusement but I did manage a repair section of a local guitar shop for a year or so recently until my career dictated I had to spend more time at work Well, I'm getting my broken axes back out and the soldering irons are warming up once again!! One thing I don't know a lot about, well I KNOW what I've read but have no skill LOL, is refinishing. That's what I've come here for. I been reading the posts around here for about an hour and everyone has a great way of expressing themselves so I hope to learn and pass on what I know as well.
