I believe warmoth offers those woods in their neck/bodies, well maybe not Bolivian rosewood but other rosewoods or Cocobolo. You can read their website for descriptions for the woods... to see what'd impart "a dark tone with good sustain". Good luck and post pics when you're done!

Have you seen member Myka Guitars' post?

This one is a double cutaway with a quilted maple top, Bolivian rosewood neck, Brazillian rosewood fingerboard, and black limba body.Nice wood choices there if you ask me!

Oh, regarding the 24" scale, you can put a capo on the first fret of a 25.5" scale guitar and tune 1/2 step down to get the feel of the 24" scale (close enough anyway .)

Hmm... I just tried playing sitting down, on both right leg and left (classical style.) It seems I shift positions of the neck depending on position. If I'm playing near the nut the neck is up close to my face for example, in fact I seem to shift the guitar from left/right legs while playing the different registers... and I don't seem to feel any discomfort. Have you tried wearing the guitar on a strap when playing seated? I mean set up short so it's still hanging while sitting.

Yeah, I believe so... but I don't know if they're different now from 90-91.

Old forgotten thread resurrected! Yeah, such a tutorial would be nice Litch!

Floyd Rose 1 is OK, FR2 is crap, most "licensed by" copies are crap.
Heh, I'm still using a Floyd II that I bought in '90 (or '91 .) Still no problems with it .

Here's the thread Brian mentioned:

for your convenience .

There was a discussion of "Crazy Train" (Ozzy) a while back. That song and solo are pretty easy.

You shuldnt have bought that squire, they are cheap man, they never play well.
Yeah, I've played Squires that I thought were great! Very good values. I'm curious how many different ones you have played to conclude that they all "never play well"?

What I actually do is buy these guitars and photograph the deconstruction of them step by step. Then I simply show the pictures in reverse order on my website to show how I *built* it!
How did they catch on to me so quickly anyway?
I especially liked how you leeched the stain out of the wood .

nice guitar, but i dont think its yours, i've seen it on musicians friend or somthin
Wow!

Cambered? Do you mean something like the Novax?
-
Probably not good for metal?
The "RotoSound Steve Harris Signature" set are flatwound.

Should also note that this is entirely unused. Need to offload due to radius problems. I need OFR (10") and not the 14"(?) this is.
You could shim it if it doesn't sell, I suppose

It might be helpful to say what style of music you'd like to play. Country? Jazz? Blues?

Oh, I meant just try that to get a feel for it... to see if it'd even be worth building a 24" scaled guitar.
