This acoustic is made from persimmon wood:
http://www.alcarruthluthier.com/persimmonOM.htm
the fruit is one of my favorites .
Hmm... it seems to be similar to ebony.
-
if you gonna try that, please show us the work..
Oh, yeah... I definately will but it'll be a very long time . I'm still convalescing from some health problems. So many plans, so little money!
-
Ah, if we're discussing all-time favorite... hmm, only one... has to be Holdsworth.
-
Cool!
I liked how your nylon string (from the other forum) sounds too . I've been thinking of doing that (6-string classical) with a wider 7-string neck.
-
However, I kind of like the yamaha ones, I've played them before:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=04.../base_id/115290
They're kind of low end.
Not bad for $200, eh? I have the even lower end RBX170 (fretted) and really enjoy it.
-
Um, I've played solitaire... and pong when I was a kid.
-
What was he playing? Was it video game music? (not a video game player)

Look in the "Public Classifieds Buy-Sell-Trade Area" section, specifically this thread.

I painted a 70's 240Z... don't remember exact year. It was kinda weird to drive, the owner only had a left leg so the gas pedel was on the left side .

Yeah, really!

Good stuff!

ebay 400 for the full stack.
Where are you seeing this? Searching for wiggy on ebay, I've only found a half stack for $550 buy it now and a full stack with a $1,049 buy it now.
-
Looking at musciansfriend.com... why is the "Wiggy 2x12 Half Stack" package with the 100W head $799.99 but if you want the head alone it's $899.99
It's a close out item if that's an indication of their popularity.
So I take it, your budget is $800-$900 for a head?
-
Before I vote... did you hear the wiggy in person or just the clips online? I was seriously disappointed with the online clips .
-
I'd be worried if the thicker velvet material would dampen the sound... maybe test out by draping cabinet with some material to see how it affects the sound.
-
I pulled the frets out of my old bass using a utility knife and careful plier work.
I've used a chisel before. The right tool for the right job .
-
I like it too. It reminds me of Marillion... or rather what I remember Marillion sounding like .
-
Here's an old thread:
http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=3456
that has a link to

Hmm... those cases are as expensive as that bass is new!
-
Look at the support section of the laney website... I found this:
http://www.laney.co.uk/html/Downloads/Manuals/LC15R.PDF
it says 8 ohms for the internal speaker.

It might be "better" to measure from the nut to the 12th fret and multiply by 2... the bridge saddles (due to intonation adjustments) might skew your measurements... if ya know what I mean .
-
Ah, the passion of the christ2.gif .
-
Musician's Friend has it for $80 plus s+h... cheaper than a custom case I'd imagine. And, yeah, I don't think it's form fitted (from the picture anyway.) Good luck!

Heh! Just wait for him to reply or PM him.

Your sample sounded better (fuller)
Strings look all nylon to me .
