I just got a tele body and upon receiving it I have carefully measure the neck pocket dimensions only to find out that it is not the standard Fender neck route dimensions. It measure 2 1/4" wide and 11/16" deep. I was wondering if it would be easier to add material to the neck itself or to the neck pocket. I fortunately work in a cabinet shop and have access to materials and machinery to get this done just haven't ever had to do it and thought I would get some input.I have some .5 mil wood edge banding that I think would be good to use in layers added to the neck or pocket to take care of the width issue and I can cut a piece of material to the length and width to cover the bottom of the pocket or back of neck. What would you do?
