Matt like with anything you wont learn untill you try it, so find some scraps and practice. Find out what you can and cant do at the moment and work on what you cant when you have some free time, im sure you can do it though just give it a shot.

OK now I've said about this guitar before but now i have all my parts and no more reasons not to build. I'm also going to guitar-x in 5 weeks and have to have this build done by then...

So the specs.

7 string fixed bridge (hipshot)

25.5" scale 24 fret neck Maple with rosewood FB

Top 4 frets are scalloped (20-24)

Q tuner pickup (BXL)

1 volume pot

Body is an unknown wood (well i cant remember) but its very similar to maple

As the topic says its a mix between the JS and RGs for the body shape... basically the back end is JS and the horns are RG (slightly tweaked) i will post some pictures soon, as tomorrow i should have everything cut out and ready for body contours (which may also be done).

I'm currently deciding on finish I'm thinking probably natural (just oiled) as it will cost me the least amount of money (as i can do it myself) and i can always paint it at a later date.

the mic stand thingy sounds like a good idea and you can just screw that on insead of an actuall screw onto the allen key holder. I may actually give this a go and post back.

i would go for a 3 by 3 headstock... maybe a toned down BC Rich? Just what i would do.

nice! thats the kinda thing i would look at if i was going for a V!!! oh i would also change the volume pot to an easier place and possibly put the input jack on the inside of the V like on the Jems...

i dont imagine it being that hard... why not just get/make some kind of L shaped metal plate that you can attach to the inside with screws or glue (if it will hold). if that makes sense...

i would have got a graphite neck for that beast! but still good job it looks great!

as low as i can get it with D'addario 9s. (but recently 8s as i bought the wrong strings doh!) but anyway its still not as low as i would like it but i cant get it any lower without it cutting out notes on the high frets. i mainly play rock/shred guitar, but for blues and slower styles i use my lespaul with slightly higher action and 10s.

guys doing a poll wont help much as if they are afraid to say anything then they wont say that they are!!! a few might and not post but i would think that more just wouldnt say anything at all. oh and im not its only a forum!

^^^ the same as what i use. its a great bit of kit and just takes a bit of playing around with to get really good sounds. (as with any amp really)

Guys just to say in my oppion some of you were overly harsh to him. I dont want this to turn to a flaming thread again as this is supposed to be a thread to get over everything thats happened.

This is the first ive heard about the hacking but at least he did inform you of the security flaws. And In other posts where he did post products that hes selling, to me thats no different as if i put a link to his site saying this products available why dont you check it out, as he did offer things that are similar to other products but can be an alternative.

I dont want to stur up trouble again i just want to put my views foward as i read just about all the posts involving this person, so please dont flame me either or say wat has already been said as i have read it!

Lets just let it be, but the flaming of other members has happened before and they have left and not returned which i dont want to happen again as between times the atmosphere is generally very good, and is a great resource.

Drak - A terrorist attack on PG is slightly extreme and if it was your business you wouldnt want other companys trying to steal your customers would you. He did post some slightly immature posts but so have a few of the other pg members. But he has also posted helpful information and ideas.

So to summerise into a sentance, both sides have been partially wrong but lets just things go.
